‘Class of 2020’ contest deadline nearing

The deadline is fast approaching for Alberta high school grads to enter a contest that could win them $2,000.
Credit Unions of Alberta is running a social media contest called “Class of 2020: Own Your Financial Future.” The contest, which was launched June 24, gives high school graduates a chance to enter to win a financial boost by posting a video to Instagram, describing how they would apply the funds toward their financial future and how they’d like to support their community during these difficult times.
Entrants have a chance to win one of three $2,000 prizes to put toward owning their financial future. The contest period has been extended, so grads now have until Friday at 12 p.m. MST to submit their entries.
To enter the giveaway, post an Instagram feed video (up to a minute long) of yourself demonstrating what you would do with $2,000. Three winners will be selected by a Credit Unions of Alberta advisory committee based on the following criteria:
– Innovation – Credit unions have been leaders in financial innovation for decades. How will you push limits and innovate to make waves as a leader of tomorrow?
– Championing Change – Alberta credit unions contribute millions of dollars to their communities each year. How do you plan on championing change in your community to create a brighter future for generations to come?
– Creativity – Show us your creative side! Whether through engaging videography, cutting-edge graphics, snappy dialogue or more, we want you to think outside the box to demonstrate how you plan to own your financial future with support from Alberta’s credit unions.
To be eligible, participants must be graduating from their senior year of high school in Alberta in 2020 and must currently reside in Alberta.
Participants must post their video submissions to the Instagram feed (not stories or IGTV), follow and tag @abcreditunions and include the following contest hashtags: #CUOwnIt #Classof2020 #MeetYouIRL
