LETHBRIDGE HERALD
The Interfaith Food Bank will be celebrating Whoop-Up Days with Harvest Party on Friday from 1-3 p.m. in the Interfaith Learning Garden at Interfaith Food Bank, 1103 3 Ave. N.
The new Harvest Party will allow community members to celebrate safely while supporting the food bank at the same time.
The Interfaith Learning Garden grows the majority of the produce used in cooking classes and teaches community members how to grow their own food. Workshops, gardening sessions and many free community activities are offered in the Garden for participants of all ages. Community members are encouraged to bring their garden vegetables to the Harvest Party, to tour the garden, and enjoy a barbecue meal.
To ensure COVID-19 safety, there will be no seating available and the event will be of the “come and go” nature. Safety measures will include:
– Social distancing in effect;
– Masks are encouraged and will be provided if necessary;
– Hand sanitizer will be available; and
– Participant numbers will be monitored and a participant list will be kept for contact tracing.
Interfaith said in a news release the event is a great opportunity for sharing surplus garden produce, and for celebrating the spirit of Whoop-Up Days.
