LETHBRIDGE HERALD – STANDOFF
The Kainai Board of Education superintendent Cameron Shade has announced the official start date for the Blood Reserve school year will be Sept. 8.
“The main priority of the Kainai Board of Education is the safety of our students and staff,” Shade said in a letter to parents and guardians. “A later start date has been chosen to allow our students to prepare for the upcoming school year and implement COVID-19 protocols.”
The letter encourages all parents and guardians to register their child prior to Sept. 1 as student registrations are needed to develop cohort lists as well as co-ordinate busing for all students. All KBE schools are open and taking registrations and school websites will also be able to assist in registering online.
All KBE staff will be tested for COVID-19 prior to the start of classes. Parents are also urged to arrange for COVID-19 testing for their children prior to the start of classes.
