LETHBRIDGE FAMILY SERVICES – COMMUNITY CONNECTOR VOLUNTEER
Lethbridge Family Services is a highly accredited, charitable human services organization that improves the well-being and quality of life for individuals and families in southwestern Alberta. They are looking for volunteers who would help create a more welcoming and inclusive city by volunteering as a community connector with individuals or families who are new to Canada. Volunteers help newcomers adjust to life in Canada through conversation, activities and socializing. Volunteers will promote well-being by offering social connection, homework help, the chance to practice conversational English, as well as access language support resources in the community. LETHBRIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY – READ ON ADULT LEARNING AND ESL PROGRAM
The Lethbridge Public Library’s (LPL) Read On Program relies on adult volunteers to tutor adult students one-on-one or in small groups. The LPL needs volunteers who can work with one or more adult students to help them meet their literacy goals. This usually involves foundational skills tutoring in reading, writing, listening, speaking, math and/or computers. A police check is required. Volunteers must be 20 years of age or older. FAMILY CENTRE SOCIETY – VIDEOGRAPHER
Family Centre Society, based in Lethbridge, is a non-profit organization providing a comprehensive range of services to children, youth and families in Southwestern Alberta. Family Centre is seeking an individual who has some experience with videography. They are seeking a talented individual who has some equipment, a good camera, light and a video editing program. WELLNESS THROUGH LIVING SOCIETY – SECRETARY
Wellness Through Living Society provides effective, client-centred, life-skill programs and services to respond to vulnerable individuals in the community; empowering them to make good life decisions and become contributing citizens. They are in need of a secretary who would attend board meetings, take minutes, send out correspondence, etc. All duties can be done from a computer at home with a good filing system in order. SOUTHERN ALBERTA ART GALLERY – BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Southern Alberta Art Gallery (SAAG) is seeking community members interested in joining their board of directors. Join their team of dedicated and passionate board members, staff and volunteers — they are now accepting applications to fill two director positions. As a leader in our community, SAAG fosters the work of contemporary artists who challenge boundaries. GREEN ACRES FOUNDATION – POSITIVE MESSAGES VOLUNTEERS
Green Acres Foundation is a non-profit housing management body who provides affordable housing and quality services responsive to the needs of clients. Volunteers can send a message to the senior residents at Green Acres Foundation lodges. Volunteers can also choose a specific resident, specific lodge, or send some kind words to all the residents. Seniors are specially at risk of social isolation right now and this is a neat way to remind them that they are loved. YWCA LETHBRIDGE & DISTRICT – SEWING MASKS VOLUNTEERS
The YWCA of Lethbridge and District is committed to the enhancement of women’s lives by providing programs and services that empower them, support equality and promote wellness of mind, body and spirit. The YWCA requires masks and they are looking for volunteers to sew masks and donate them back to the YWCA. CEDAR CREEK ADAPTACARE –VOLUNTEERS TO UPLIFT SENIORS
Cedar Creek Adaptacare provides seniors with a specialized nursing and personal-care living facility. They are looking for volunteers who would be interested in lifting the spirits of their resident seniors by dropping off or mailing letters, cards and postcards to their centre.
