LETHBRIDGE HERALD
Lethbridge Family Services has been notified that positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at the LFS North office, located at 1107 2A Ave. N.
LFS said in a news release that with these few cases confirmed, it closed its North office on Friday, in addition to Monday, out of an abundance of caution.
LFS has taken all necessary precautions including:
• Since March, LFS has practised strict COVID-19 protocols recommended by Alberta Health Services and Health Canada;
• Since March, all three North office LFS departments have been working in tight containment, separated from contact with other Departments; and
• A two-day deep clean and sanitization was completed at the North facility over the weekend.
LFS said every effort is being taken and is working closely with Alberta Health Services to assist them with contact tracing.
“We do know despite the strictest protocols on physical distancing, masking, hand sanitization and cleaning, we can see how easily this virus can still seize any opportunity,” LFS said in the release. “There is much attention in the community on how low the case counts have been. This is dangerous and invites complacency. People must be vigilant with following public health guidance as cases are rising everywhere.
“Lethbridge Family Services will continue to demonstrate care and compassion to our colleagues as we work through this situation together.”
