Outbreak of recent new cases identified from gathering in Coaldale

By Herald on October 16, 2020.

Alberta Health Services has recently informed emergency services staff of a COVID-19 outbreak in Coaldale.

The province’s website lists a Coaldale church, ROC Christian Ministries, among a number of Lethbridge and area outbreak locations.

Lethbridge and Lethbridge County both remain under “watch” status, with 138 and 40 active cases in the city and county respectively.

The Town of Coaldale is reminding everyone to follow the public health measures in place as local cases rise.

Citizens are reminded to continue to follow these steps to slow the spread:

-Practice physical distancing of at least 2 metres

-Wear a mask when physical distancing isn’t possible

-Practice good hand hygiene

-Cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid touching your face

-Monitor for symptoms and self-isolate for 10 days if symptoms appear

-If you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19 you must isolate for 14 days
