Outbreak declared at Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School

The Lethbridge School Division has received notice that there is an outbreak at Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School.
Alberta Health Services has notified the division that there are two COVID-19 cases at the school. At this time, based on advice from Alberta Education, Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School will remain open.
AHS has proceeded with defining close contacts of the two cases within the school context, and those individuals will be contacted by the school via email and will be required to quarantine immediately for the period defined by the close-contact letter.
The school division also issued an alert earlier Tuesday that General Stewart Elementary School has recently been notified by Alberta Health Services that they have identified one case of COVID-19 at the school.
