Second case of COVID-19 at Kainai Continuing Care Centre

The Blood Tribe Department of Health has confirmed a second case of COVID-19 after declaring an outbreak with a first case confirmed earlier this week at the Kainai Continuing Care Centre in Standoff.
The second case is being identified in a resident, with the department saying that staff at the centre continue to provide the necessary care for elders and have enhanced health precautions that have been exercised throughout the pandemic.
Centre staff and the department of health have enacted immediate testing of all residents and staff, reduced numbers within cohorts and closed the facility to visitors until further notice.
