Fire destroys large hay shed near Taber

The M.D. of Taber Regional Fire Service arrived to find a large shed containing a Timothy hay crop fully involved early Sunday morning near Taber.

Crews from the M.D. of Taber Regional Fire Service say they arrived at the property, owned by Johnson Fresh Farms, 10-kilometres north of Fincastle in the early Sunday morning hours to find the structure fully involved. Defensive operations were initiated and exposure protection was undertaken until the threat of fire spread to adjacent buildings and forage bales was reduced.
No injuries were said to have resulted from the incident and a cause has not yet been reported.
