Lethbridge police are looking for a vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run where they say a pedestrian was struck at a downtown crosswalk Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a woman was crossing southbound at 3 Avenue along 3 Street South when she was struck by a vehicle making a right-hand turn. The vehicle did not remain at the scene, police say.
The woman is said to have been taken to hospital by ambulance with what police describe as significant, but not life-threatening injuries.
Traffic collision officers were on scene taking measurements and while police say they have some information on the vehicle involved, the investigation continues. Anyone who has information or witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
Come on Police.. Look on the McDonalds camera that faces that intersection. Or give us a description of the vehicle.
This didn’t happen last week. They need some time to investigate security footage, other possible witnesses, etc. This is exactly why the police said they are continuing the investigation.
Furthermore, the police also state they have “some” information on the vehicle. That means that so far the eyewitness information on the vehicle is contradictory and/or too vague. As such, they won’t release that poor information to avoid everyone and their dog reporting the wrong vehicle.
