Drug bust results in two arrests

Two arrests have been made after members of the Crime Suppression Team, with assistance from other Lethbridge Police Service units, executed a drug search warrant Tuesday on the city’s southside.

With assistance from the Priority Crimes Unit and a patrol unit, the Crime Suppression Team executed the warrant at a hotel in the 2200-block of 7 Avenue South after public complaints about suspected drug activity there.

As a result of the search of the hotel room, police say they located illegal drugs valued at more than $3,000 including 14.1 grams of methamphetamine and 7.1 grams of fentanyl. Also seized was more than $3,500 in cash, and a number of electronic devices believed to have been stolen earlier.

Arnold Joe Hofer, 49, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000. He was released from custody after a Judicial Interim Release hearing to appear in court Jan. 7, 2021.
Kimberlie Rose Eagle Speaker, 32, of no fixed address, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. After a Judicial Interim Release hearing, she was released from custody to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2021.
