The Act One fundraising campaign by Crowsnest Cando to purchase the Roxy Theatre in the historic downtown of Coleman is in its final stretch as they work to raise $50,000 to purchase the multi-use community facility.
Crowsnest Cando has a goal of raising $50,000 by Jan. 26, to close on purchasing the building. To date, over $13,000 has been raised, and over the next few days they are pushing to revive the Roxy Theatre as a multi-use community performing arts centre once more.
The community will benefit from the project in many ways including having the performing arts centre for community groups and travelling performance. The facility could be a catalyst for art and entertainment in the downtown district, an opportunity to engage with youth in performing arts, and a space to provide workshops, study spaces, and cultural programming.
Crowsnest Cando is encouraging all Crowsnest Pass residents and surrounding communities to support his project, with any sized donation being appreciated. For more information about Crowsnest Cando, as well as how to donate to the Revive the Roxy Theatre campaign, visit crowsnestcando.ca.
