One dead after semi-trailer collision

Just before noon on Monday, Taber-Vauxhall RCMP responded to a serious head-on collision involving two semi-tractors on Highway 526 north of Vauxhall.
Also responding to the scene were EMS and the Vauxhall Fire Department. The single driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 29-year-old male from Calgary, was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. The adult male driver and child passenger of the other vehicle were transported by EMS to a local area hospital with minor injuries.
An RCMP collision analyst was called in to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing.
Following the collision on Monday, traffic was diverted for several hours on Highway 526 westbound at Range Road 164 and eastbound at Range Road 165.
The name of the deceased will not be released and charges are not anticipated.
