Police charge Lethbridge man in high-risk search warrant

Lethbridge Police have charged a Lethbridge man following a high-risk search warrant  Friday on the city’s northside.

Police say a search of the residence in the 1900-block of 18 Avenue North resulted in the seizure of several weapons, including a machete, large knives and two replica handguns, as well as a quantity of oxycodone.

Based on information received of weapons in the home, the Lethbridge Police Service Tactical Team assisted to ensure the safety of the public and officers.

Marty Franzen, 46, of Lethbridge, has been charged with four counts of failing to comply with a release order and one count of possession of a controlled substance. He remains in custody while awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
