The Blood Tribe Police Service are investigating a shooting that occurred in the community of Standoff on Monday.
According to a statement released by the BTPS on Tuesday, police officers were called to a residence at about 3 p.m. in Standoff. When they arrived, they discovered a man with significant injuries to his leg. The injuries are believed to be a result of a firearm.
The victim was transported by EMS to the hospital, reportedly in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing and police have taken persons of interest into custody. Police believe this is a targeted incident and there is no immediate danger to the public.
