Fire crews battling blaze at Green Prairie facility east of city

A fire is currently burning at the Green Prairie International facility east of Lethbridge.

Coaldale & District Emergency Services, along with Lethbridge Fire & Emergency Services are currently battling the blaze. City of Lethbridge reports four stations have responded. Firefighters are making use of an adjacent irrigation canal as a water supply, pumping directly to the fire.

No official word has been released on the cause, extent of the damage or if there have been any injuries.

The forage processor and supply facility has been the scene of a number of major fires dating back over the years.
