During a press conference held at the Kainai Forge in Standoff, Kenney announced they are adding agriculture, transportation and telecommunications to the sectors that are backed up by a billion dollars in loan guarantees and financing through the AIOC.
“The AIOC has done a tremendous job in creating economic opportunities in Indigenous communities to ensure future prosperity for generations to come. This is an important step in reconciliation and will help communities grow and prosper,” said Kenney.
Rick Wilson, Minister of Indigenous Relations, Nate Horner, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Economic Development and Stephen Buffalo, chair, Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation Board were also in attendance.
