Amazing Race set to show off Lethbridge

The popular CTV reality series “The Amazing Race” is coming to Lethbridge Tuesday and residents can view the episode at the new downtown Festival Square.
The square is located at 600 3 Ave. S.
The second episode of the long-running series will put Lethbridge in the national spotlight again. The city’s previously had contestants participating in Julie and Lowell Taylor who competed in the fourth season.
A viewing party is being staged starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a collaboration among Tourism Lethbridge, the Downtown Lethbridge Business Revitalization Zone and the City of Lethbridge.
The actual episode will air at 9 p.m. Mountain but fans who have time shift packages on cable or satellite can check it out earlier on eastern Canada CTV stations.
In a press release Tourism Lethbridge CEO Erin Crane said having the series hit the city is “an incredible opportunity to show the rest of Canada all that Lethbridge has to offer culturally, artistically, and geographically.” In the release Crane said she is “hopeful that more Canadians and people living abroad will choose Lethbridge as their next destination when planning a trip in Canada.”
“I think once everyone sees the beauty of our area along with the unique experiences we offer they will add Lethbridge to their travel bucket list.”
The current series is the eighth of the Canadian version of “The Amazing Race” which has been a long-running hit with audiences since its launch stateside.
