Field Law is putting a call out for applicants for their Community Fund Program.
There will be $75,000 doled out between a southern Alberta, northern Alberta and a Northwest Territories applicant.
“What we ask applicants to do is describe what they do and why they think they might be a good candidate for getting this grant and the basic qualification for it is that the organization have some kind of a community focus, charity-type plan and then it’s like a pay-it-forward mentality,” said Jeremiah Kowalchuk, Field Law managing partner.
Applicants make their pitches and once the application process closes then a voting period will commence.
“We seek out votes from participants and people they share the application with and then once that’s completed then we have a judging panel in our office that ends up making the final decision,” he said.
Kowalchuk said it’s important to give back in the community.
“Part of this program is to generate more profile for the people who apply for this funding because they go through this public process and they get profiled on our website (and) social media,” he said.
Field Law tries to pick applicants that need the funding and organizations that will take the dollar a long way.
Community associations, charitable organizations and individuals have until Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. to apply.
More information on the application can be found at http://www.fieldlawcommunityfund.com.
Field Law has donated a total of $650,000 to more than 100 organizations and individuals for their pay-it-forward ideas.
