Coulee Fest kicks off new academic year for students at Lethbridge College

The fourth annual Coulee Fest at Lethbridge College provided a variety of entertainment options for attendees on Saturday.

Attendees could enjoy 16 food trucks, a Prairie Made Market, family fun activities, bands and a horse-drawn carriage ride to name a few.

“Coulee Fest is all about bringing the community back to our campus to show off a little bit about what makes Lethbridge College so special and to just show what we do really well, which is engaging our community,” said Stefanie Savage, LC’s alumni and events manager.

Organizers were a little scared after last year in having to cancel and that created some trepidation going into this year’s event.

“I think we were excited to be able to do this again and to be able to have people gather and have a great time and just feel really safe doing so,” said Savage.

Savage said they use it as an opportunity to celebrate academics returning, but also to engage our community.

“As the community college in town, part of what we do is just making sure everyone feels welcome,” said Savage.

Savage anticipated that there would be around 5,000 people in attendance over the course of the day.

“We’re lucky that we have some really good partners that are helping us grow the event year after year,” she said.
