Neuron Mobility seeking feedback on e-mobility pilot

By Ry Clarke on September 24, 2022.

Neuron Mobility and the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce are looking for feedback from residents regarding the e-mobility program and user experience.

The Voices of Business survey, found at lethbridgechamber.com/form/view/27415, looks for member’s feedback on using the e-scooters and e-bikes around the city. Neuron is seeking input on how the program is impacting local businesses, organizations, and tourism, as well as helping the company understand the relationship between riders and the economy.

“We usually run these surveys once or twice a year. In Lethbridge, this is our first year and we haven’t done it yet. So we are super excited to see what the results show,” said Daniel Rodrigo, Alberta regional manager with Neuron. “Our latest data from last year, in other markets, saw at a national level 80 per cent of our riders using Neuron e-scooters and e-bikes to visit local businesses, and doing things like exploring their cities. It shows the impact that (e-mobility) can have. Economically, we see that 62 per cent of our users on their last trip, ended up making a purchase at a local vendor or store. We look at that data to understand and see what the positive impacts our product and service has on these markets, and how it’s able to help revitalize and improve the business districts.”

The ten-question survey offers a chance to win a free monthly Neuron Pass to help towards an incentive for feedback, while asking questions about the impact of the program, exploration, and access to other services within the city.

“It is helpful when we are trying to position ourselves and convince markets that don’t have these scooters, the benefit that they can see,” said Rodrigo. “When we launch in a city, we are going to be in the busiest parts of the city, where you expect to see a lot of tourism and local businesses congregate, like in the downtown area. We can then use this as a model to show cities that may be a little hesitant or reluctant to engage in the scooter program, the benefits that local businesses, and residents can gain from having a service such as ours in their jurisdiction.”

Neuron is currently in Lethbridge as part of a two-year pilot program that was launched back at the beginning of April 2022, and with data collected from these surveys the information can help cement the program’s stay in the city.

“All this information will then speak and help to solidify the positive economic impact that it has had, and the need, and desire, residents have with the continued service in their city,” said Rodrigo. “We are really excited to see what exactly the numbers show towards how much of an economic impact we have been able to provide the city of Lethbridge with the introduction of our service.”
