Saturday is party time around the country with Canada Day celebrations in the spotlight.
And The City of Lethbridge is making it easier for residents planning to hit Henderson Lake on Saturday evening to catch entertainment and enjoy the festivities. Limited parking around Henderson Lake Park doesn’t have to be a deterrent because people can use free transit to avoid traffic when heading to the park.
Transit service, says the City, will be free after 7 p.m. and the No. 3 cityLINK green route and No. 4 cityLINK orange route will both be extended until 11:45 p.m. to ensure riders can take in the fireworks display before leaving the park.
“Riders can use any stop along the designated routes or choose to park their vehicle at one of the exterior Transit hub locations, including the Park ‘n’ Ride, Crossings Station (Cavendish Farms Centre), South Gate Station or the Sherring Station,” says the City
Canada Day celebrations in the northeast end of Henderson will start at noon. Activities include the food hub, kids’ zone, youth market and live performers, with the fireworks set to begin at 11 p.m. at Henderson Lake Park.
Celebrations are free to attend and welcoming for all residents and visitors.
