By Lethbridge Herald on July 19, 2023.

Jarett Frey does a burnout and leaves a cloud of smoke in his Chevy C-10 during Street Machine Weekend at Exhibition Park on Saturday. The event is always a popular one with people who attend Street Wheelers. Outside of sanctioned events, some may have gotten a bit carried away with the fun given the number of tickets police issued.

The Lethbridge Police Service said Monday they issued more than 100 tickets and removed multiple impaired drivers from the road during Street Machine Weekend.

In a release LPS states they issued 130 tickets with the majority of the tickets issued for stunting and equipment violations.

In addition, there were three Immediate Roadside Sanction (IRS) fails, two  zero tolerance for GDL drivers and one IRS Caution, as well as one 24-hour suspension, six vehicles towed, and one warrant executed.
