A Coaldale man accused of sexually assaulting two woman and two young girls at a grocery store is scheduled to return to court next month.
The matter for Abraham Feher Neudorf was in Lethbridge court of justice Monday, but adjourned without taking any steps after an agent for the accused’s lawyer told the judge the lawyer had been in a motorcycle accident.
The agent – a student at law – said the defence wants to schedule a pre-trial conference, but is unable to without knowing the lawyer’s “prognosis.”
Neudorf, 57, is charged with two counts each of sexual assault, sexual interference, and sexual assault of a person under the age of 16, and one count of criminal harassment.
On Jan. 20 police responded to a sexual assault complaint at Superstore in the 3500 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South. An investigation determined a 46-year-old woman and her two daughters, both under the age of 16, were followed around the store by an unknown man and sexually assaulted.
The man followed each of the victims as they walked to different areas of the store and proceeded to touch them inappropriately. Police reviews video surveillance footage and saw the man target another woman and touch her inappropriately, as well.
Images of the subject were subsequently released by police in an effort to identify him and multiple tips were received. The man went to the police station six days later and was arrested without incident.
Neudorf is scheduled to next appear in court Aug. 12.
