The Blood Tribe has announced a new Chief and council will be elected at the end of November.
Blood Tribe members who wish to run for the office of Chief or the office of councillor must attend along with their nominator or secondar a nomination meeting on Nov. 6 at the Kainai multipurpose building from 4 until 7 p.m.
Along with their nominator, the eligible voter must bring the nomination fee of $800 for office of Chief and $500 for office of councillor as well as a criminal record check which shows the nominee has not been convicted of an indictable offence within the last three years. The criminal record check must be obtained within 30 days of nomination meeting.
Voters will be able to make vote in-person on the advance polls which will take place at Kainai Multipurpose Building from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Nov. 20 or on election day on Nov. 27 at either the Kainai Multipurpose Building, Moses Lake Community Hall, Sik-Ook-Otok Friendship Society in Lethbridge or at Delta Calgary South.
All polls on election day will be open from 9 am until 8 p.m.
Those who are eligible to vote, but unable to in purpose have the option to submit an electronic online vote on Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. until Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. (MST)
