Two concurrent Remembrance Day ceremonies will be staged in Lethbridge on Monday.
Hosted by General Stewart Branch No. 4 of the Royal Canadian Legion, one ceremony will run inside the Agri-Food Hub and Trade centre. Doors open at 10 with seating to be completed by 10:30 and the ceremony starting at 10:45 a.m.
An outdoor event will be staged at the Lethbridge Cenotaph on Veterans Avenue, which temporarily has a name change from 4 Ave. S.
This event with the 20th Independent Field Battery also starts at 10:45 a.m. and will include scheduled fly-bys from a Harvard MK IV and a C-17 Globemaster.
The Harvard will be piloted by owner Geoffrey Brayne whose copilot this year is Captain (Retired) David Deere who served for 17 years in the RCAF flying the CF-18 Hornet, the CF-5 Freedom Fighter and the CT-114 Tutor trainer.
Free admission for visitors will be offered by the Lethbridge Military Museum on Monday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The museum is located at the Vimy Ridge Armoury near the airport.
Other area communities hosting Remembrance Day ceremonies include Coalhurst which has its at the community centre starting at 10:30 a.m. Another ceremony is slated for the Taber Community Centre at 10:45 a.m. Barons Legion Branch 160 is hosting a ceremony as is the Cardston Legion branch at the high school. Other ceremonies will be staged in Claresholm, Vulcan and Nanton.
