Blood Tribe election set for today

The Blood Tribe will vote for a new Chief and Council today.

Members of the Blood Tribe over the age of 21 are able to cast their vote between 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. at a variety of polling stations including the Kainai Multipurpose Building, Sik-Ooh-Kotoki Friendship Society in Lethbridge and the Delta Calgary South.

With current Chief Roy Fox not entering the running, there is guaranteed to be a new chief elected and there are 10 people in the running.

The council race has 59 people on the registrar and 12 will be elected by the end of the day.

Blood Tribe members are reminded they are required to bring ID to be able to vote.
