The fourth annual Ka Mo Taan Festive Lights is set to have a grand opening event at the Red Crow Park in Standoff on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m.
This annual Christmas light display will offer a drive-through light display, along with the option for community members to walk through the display and enjoy the festive lights.
This event is hosted by the Kainaiwa Children’s Services in partnership with Blood Tribe programs, community committees and entities.
Ka Mo Taan is a Blackfoot word which signifies unity, something the Elders believe is important in creating a positive and healthy community.
Shannon Soop, chief executive officer of Kainaiwaa Children’s Services, says this event is a great way to bring families together and bring unity to the Blood Tribe communities.
“We look forward once again to hosting the opening night. It’s our way of reaching out to the community and working with other Blood Tribe programs and entities in creating activities for families,” said Soop.
The opening night festivities will include a light meal and treats, a visit from Napi, a Santa Clause Parade and a Fireworks show finale at 7 p.m.
Ka Mo Taan Festive Lights will have a different program each evening throughout the month of December with the display continuing until early January.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to enjoy the light display.
