Election nominations now open for Lethbridge County

The nomination period for the 2025 Lethbridge municipal election is now open to anyone within Lethbridge County.

Those who are interested in submitting their nomination papers can do so until Sept. 22, 2025, at noon.

Completed nomination papers must be submitted in person at the County’s Lethbridge Office. Candidates may have some drop them off in their name, but as nomination papers can only be accepted by authorized staff it is recommended to call the office beforehand to ensure someone will be available to accept them.

Serving on council is an opportunity to represent the interests of the community and guide the future of Lethbridge County. Some of the responsibilities of city councillor include collaborating with other councillors to set policies and provide strategic direction for the county, communicating with residents and stakeholders on matters impacting the community, attending council meeting twice per month as well as other committee meetings and representing Lethbridge County at public events, conferences and other community gatherings.

Lethbridge County encourages all eligible residents to participate in the election process whether as a candidate or as a voter.

The 2025 municipal election will take place on Oct. 20, 2025 and details about the voting process will be released in the coming months.
