With the Home, Garden and Leisure Show opening its doors, vendors were excited to share what they have to offer to those in attendance as the doors opened at the Agri-Food Hub on Thursday afternoon.

The HALO Air Ambulance helicopter, on display at the show, offers attendees an opportunity to look inside and learn all about it.

Pilot Louis Wallace says the helicopter is the southern Alberta-baed HALO’s newest machine and will begin to serve the community over the summer.

“What we have here on display is the machine, but what we are advertising is our capability, the reach that we have from Medicine Hat, through Lethbridge, towards the mountains and the American boarder,” said Wallace. “To fly, pick up and transport to primary care in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat hospitals or even Calgary.”

Ryker Pease, owner of AXYS Screw Piling & Development, one of the show sponsors, says the event allows them to showcase some of their equipment while also providing them with an opportunity to talk to members of the community face to face.

“All of our materials and equipment are made here in Canada, our screw piles are supplied and engineered right here in Canada which keeps everything local and gives back to the community,” said Pease.

Rudy Reger, owner of Energy Smart and Arctic Spa, said that being able to showcase his product at the Home, Garden and Leisure Show is a great opportunity to promote Canadian products.

“The biggest excitement right now is that we are 100 per cent Canadian, actually fully Albertan, and we are the most efficient hot tub in the market,” said Reger.

He said they have a local manufacturer that focuses on efficiency and not just glamour, and they are displaying “The Cold Tub” with a special guest jumping in on Friday to try it out just before jumping into a hot tub also on display.

“We own the original cold tub, but locally we just started selling it, for cold water therapy which is really good for arthritis, brain fog or anxiety and even weight loss,” said Reger.

The show runs today from 1-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
