New West Theatre announced Wednesday that their new season will begin in August, run until February and include a concert series at the Yates Memorial Theatre.

Kelly Reay, artistic director of New West Theatre, said the troupe is kicking off the season with its annual summer music comedy review.

“This is a show that will take audiences on a journey through the musical eras of the past,” said Reay. “This is an electrifying sequel to our 2022 hit show Decades.”

Named Decades: Remixed, the show will shine a spotlight on the iconic sounds of the decades and will run Aug. 7-23.

Shortly after that, NWT will present “Clue: On Stage” which will run from Sept. 5-20. Reay said they’re really excited about the show.

“We are pleased to present a play that invites you to step into a world of mystery and mischief in a comedic romp as murder and blackmail unfold over a sinister dinner party.”

The play is based on the cult classic 1985 film, and it is a classic slapstick whodunit that will keep audiences guessing and it promises thrilling twists at every turn.

After this, they get ready for Christmas with their “Holiday Rock.” Reay said it’s a holiday revue that will have people rocking around the Christmas tree.

“It is the ultimate rock and roll holiday party and a sleigh-load of fun that you and your family won’t forget,” he said.

Holiday Rock will run from Dec. 11-28 and it is recommended for all ages.

To conclude their Mainstage Series, NWT will present “The Birds & The Bees,” which will run from Feb. 12-21, 2026.

“It’s a razor-sharp Canadian comedy by Vancouver playwright Mark Crawford about a mother and her adult daughter juggling love, life and second chances all under one chaotic farmhouse roof,” said Reay.  Along the way they uncover family secrets, surprise romances and they stumble through some hilariously awkward lessons about the birds and the bees.

THe added that audiences will see a lot of familiar faces, but they hope to wow them with some new talent on their stage.

“We are about 80 per cent cast, so there are still some opportunities, but we did some extensive auditioning processes. In addition to our mainstage season, we’re really thrilled this year to be presenting a brand-new concert series.”

The series of three concerts will celebrate the work of two Canadian icons in addition to the most popular international rock band of all time.

“On Aug. 28, just in time for the 50th anniversary of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, it’s a Gordon Lightfoot Tribute,” said Reay.

He added that on Sept. 24 they are proud to present a tribute to The Beatles titled “Britain’s Finest – A Complete Beatles Experience.”

“And on Oct. 5 we are honouring one of Canada’s most legendary rockers Neil Young, with Prairie Moon: A Neil Young Experience,” said Reay.
