Nord-Bridge Senior Centre is hosting their annual craft and bake sale today and they are inviting members of the community to stop by and support local vendors.
Ashley Kern, program co-ordinator, said the event is free and it is open to all community members. Attendees are not required to be members.
“There will be over 20 craft vendors showcasing their goods giving attendees a wide variety of things to choose from, and also a few baked goods for sale,” said Kern.
She said the proceeds from vendors fee to use the tables and proceeds from the bake goods sale will go towards programming as the good are donated.
Kern added that proceeds from whatever vendors sell is for them to take home.
“This event has been happening for around 17 years and it is usually well attended, depending on what else is happening in the community the same day,” said Kern.
Last year they saw just over 200 people come through the craft and bake sale and she is hoping to see at least the same if no more than that this year.
“I would suggest people come sooner rather than later, as in the past we’ve had around four tables of baked goods, and we sold out within an hour after we opened,” said Kern.
The sale runs from 9 a.m. – 2p.m. Kern encourages those looking for baked goods to arrive when the sale opens to avoid disappointment.
“This is happening in the multi-purpose hall, and people are asked to use the side north-east doors to come in. Those are the doors that will be open and there will be signs,” said Kern.
The sale runs until 2 p.m.
