‘Tis the season for giving and in a time of economic challenges for many people, there are many ways to give back that don’t include money.

One way to give back is by volunteering your time at events such as Volunteer Lethbridge’s wrapping station.

For almost two decades, Volunteer Lethbridge has hosted a wrapping station to raise funds for their various programs throughout the year.

This year the station is next to Santa, near Guest Services in Park Place Mall.

Sandi Davis, executive director for Volunteer Lethbridge, says this service is by donation and is open to anyone who doesn’t want to deal with the struggle of wrapping gifts.

“We are offering to wrap presents for Christmas for people that either just don’t want to or have difficulties with wrapping gifts. You can just bring you gifts down and we will wrap them up.”

For those wrapping experts who are wanting to share their time and talents can sign up for a shift by visiting their website www.volunteerlethbridge.com.

Volunteer Lethbridge is one of many organizations part of the Christmas Hope Campaign.

This year over 2,600 children have received gifts and nearly 2,000 are still registered for Christmas Hopes partners’ initiatives.

Additionally, about 250 seniors have been chosen for gifts and the Golden Giving Tree is still accepting new nominations.

The Christmas Hope campaign is experiencing a shortage of gifts due to the high demand and are asking anyone who is able to donate a gift or donate to participating partners including Family Services Angel Tree; MyCityCare Shop of Wonders; or the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization Golden Giving Tree.
