Building Industry & Land Development Association (BILD) Lethbridge Region recently announced a new program offering complimentary booth space to non-profit and charitable organizations at the Southern Alberta Home, Garden & Leisure Show.

This year the show will take place from March 12 to March 14, and BILD Executive Officer Bridget Mearns said there is a limited number of booths available with specific criteria for those wishing to apply for a spot.

Mearns explained that the roots of the complimentary booths idea goes back to the Home and Garden Show being an opportunity for community members to connect.

“Now that BILD is part of organizing the show and we own the show, we thought this was a great opportunity to go that step further and offer this to organizations in our city to connect with the community,” said Mearns.

She said the Southern Alberta Home, Garden & Leisure Show is about people and community, not just products and by providing free booth space to non- profits, they can help them engage with residents and build meaningful relationships.

“To ensure accountability and consistency, non-profit applicants are evaluated using a scoring matrix that considers mission alignment, community impact, relevance to the residential construction industry, public engagement value, and financial need,” said Mearns.

She said those scores, along with practical considerations such as show layout and exhibitor balance, are used to determine final booth allocations.

“They have to be able to man the booth the entire time of the show. They can’t just put up a static display and leave it. We’re looking for someone who’s to be there the whole time, just like any other vendor,” said Mearns.

She explained that eligible organizations must be registered non-profits or charities serving the Lethbridge region or surrounding communities.

“We’re looking for organisations that fit the theme of home, gardening, leisure and community. So, we want to make sure that it makes sense for the people that are coming to this show,” said Mearns.

Non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply now at hglethbridge.ca. Applications must be submitted by February 3, 2026.
