A new 20,000 square foot facility has opened just outside of Lethbridge City limits, east of the Churchill Industrial Park, where delivery service partner ,RHAY Logistics, will help Amazon customers receive their packages faster.

The facility represents a newer business model for Amazon in Canada, operated in partnership with independent business owners who contract with Amazon to build and operate their own local package delivery service.

Director of Amazon Logistics Canada, Jasmin Begagic said Amazon is committed to offering the fastest delivery speeds for their customers, and they are constantly investing in local networks, including smaller cities and communities like Lethbridge.

“We’re proud to work directly with our local Delivery Service Partners to help us serve more customers more efficiently,” said Begagic.

He explained that customer orders are sorted at a nearby Amazon delivery station and shipped by Amazon to the new site, where they are received by RHAY Logistics and loaded on to delivery vehicles for the final journey to customers’ doorsteps.

Owner of RHAY Logistics, Aminat Popoola shared that as RHAY Logistics headquarters is located in Calgary, something that has stood out about Lethbridge is how connected the community is.

“Many local businesses have been very open to collaboration, and we’ve been intentional about building partnerships with them whenever possible. Being part of the local ecosystem and not just operating within it has always been important to us,” said Popoola.

She said that beyond logistics, they believe businesses should play a meaningful role in the communities they serve.

“That’s why initiatives like RHAY’s Kindness Pledge are so important to us. Through the pledge, we commit to supporting local charities and community organizations, ensuring that as our business grows, the community grows with us,” said Popoola.

She said for them, success is not only measured by the number of packages delivered, but by the relationships they build and the positive impact they can have locally.

“Lethbridge has been incredibly welcoming, and we’re proud to be part of this community,” said Popoola.
