The Home, Garden & Leisure Show is now at full swing at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre until Saturday, offering attendees an opportunity to interact with hundreds of exhibitors, chances to win prizes and enjoy demonstrations, competitions and other attractions.
Executive Officer with BILD Lethbridge Region, Bridget Mearns says it is exciting to open the doors once again for everyone to enjoy the show.
“This is one of my favourite events of the year, because it means a lot on many different fronts. It means a lot to our community, to our businesses and our industry, says Mearns.
She says this year’s show has a lot to offer, from vendors, to chef demonstrations, to an interactive workshop.
“We have gardeners talking about all things gardening. We have the who BILDs it best competition, which is our high school live action building competition, our 50/50 with Halo charity which last year raised under $30,000,” says Mearns.
She adds that there is a swim spa where they will be hosting the Pronghorns University swim team, and the “Crack the code: claim the keys” promotion from Stranville Living Master Builder among many other activities.
Construction Manager with Stranville Living Master Builder, Joel Spanos says attendees will have a chance to crack a multi-digit code for an opportunity to win a brand-new home valued at $589,900.
“We were thinking about something that we could do that would drive traffic to the Home and Garden Show, and also involve the community,” says Spanos.
He explains that the house is located in the Country Meadows community, in the west side of the city, it has three bedrooms, an office in the main floor, and a double attached garage among many other features.
“The house looks right at the pond across the street. It’s a nice home, that’s for sure,” says Spanos.
He says they are hopeful that someone will crack the code and have the opportunity to win the home, but if nobody is able to do it during the show, the house will go up for sale.
“If someone loves it and they come and see it, maybe they want to purchase it after the show,” says Spano.
