A 31-year-old man has died while climbing Crowsnest Mountain over the past weekend. Crowsnest Pass RCMP report that on Saturday evening they were dispatched to a personal satellite emergency activation on an area of Crowsnest Mountain known as “the chutes”. A morning windstorm blowing through southern Alberta caused power outages and damage throughout the area. Extreme wind gust knocked out power to large sections of the northside and southside of Lethbridge, downing tree limbs and blacking out traffic lights on several major roadways in the city. The Lethbridge School Division is sending students home from all southside and northside schools due to power outages in the city. The Division says they will continue to monitor westside schools. Buses will arrive between 11:45-12:30 for students whose parents have been contacted. Other students whose parents have not been contacted cannot board the bus. ... Read More »
