Carney announces plans to boost Canada’s military footprint in the Arctic

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney says Ottawa will expand the Canadian Armed Forces’ presence in the Arctic and turn to Australia’s over-the-horizon radar tech to monitor threats from adversaries such as China and Russia.
Carney is also pledging $253 million in new funding for Indigenous reconciliation initiatives in the North.
They include $94 million to upgrade power plants in Nunavut and $20 million for a hydroelectricity project to help move northerners off diesel.
Carney is making the announcements during a short stopover in Iqaluit on the return leg of his first official trip abroad, during which the prime minister met with French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Carney is widely expected to trigger an early election in the coming weeks or days.
The Liberal party has enjoyed a sharp rebound in the polls in recent months, driven by U.S. President Donald Trump’s frequent threats against Canada’s economy and sovereignty and Justin Trudeau’s dramatic exit from federal politics.

Forgive me if I don’t believe anything you say. The Liberals cut the plans of the Stephen Harper government to built 3 bases in the Arctic and build Arctic patrol ships and icebreakers, just as the cut many other vital procurements for our military, leaving the military with junk to work with.
We have seen the Liberal campaign promises many times before, but never followed through.
The purchase of the 4 submarines, which never, have we seen 4 all being fully operational . . . what is their status of those money pits have have seen little service?
The cancelling of the EH-101 helicopters by Chretien costing taxpayers almost $500 million in cancellation charges, then a rushed purchase of impractical helicopters that were converted civilian to military helicopters which have been full of problems due to design.
Cancelling of the CF 35 to replace our worn out CF 18’s!
And many other procurement issues that have left Canadians in a bad position where we cannot defend ourselves!
The actions taken by the Liberals can only be understood as a plan to destroy our country and allow us to be taken over by another!
How can you tell when the Liberals are lying? When their lips move!
AND . . . you have not been given the confidence of the House, and under the Caretaker Act, you are not supposed to be making any decisions, internationally or domestically! Call back Parliament!

It’s all part of the “caretaker convention,” a longstanding parliamentary tradition which holds that until a prime minister is able to “command the confidence of the House of Commons,” he’s not allowed to wield the full powers of his office.
In fact, he’s not supposed to do almost any of the things Canadians typically associate with their prime minister.
“Avoid participating in high-profile government-related domestic and international events,” reads an official Privy Council guide to the caretaker convention. It adds that this includes “international visits, and the signing of treaties and agreements.”
Caretaker prime ministers are also asked to steer clear of “appointments,” “policy decisions,” “new spending,” “negotiations or consultations,” “non-routine contracts,” and “grants and contributions.”…..
Typical of the Liberals to ignore rules! All the Prime Ministers combined have not broken the Conflict of Interest Act as many times as this PM! NONE!
4 provisions of the Act were broken by the 2016 Christmas vacation on the Aga Khan’s private island, which by the way explains why Trudeau has welcomed so many Gazans to our country and supported Gazans with our tax dollars even after it was found that most of that money went to Hamas, while speaking against the Israeli’s.
The India affair in 2018, the SNC Lavelin Affair in 2019, the WE affair 2020, the recent Foreign Interference which we never will know the truth and others!
Carney you are not my Prime Minister . . . you are not elected and have not returned Parliament to get the confidence of the people!
You are a fraud! You should not be making any decisions for Canada and again, in true Liberal fashion, are disrespecting the people of Canada!
