Israeli ambassador meets with Canadian officials after summons from foreign minister

OTTAWA — Israel’s Ambassador in Canada met with senior officials from the foreign affairs ministry on Wednesday to discuss an incident in the West Bank that saw Israeli soldiers fire warning shots near a diplomatic tour that included four Canadians.
But Iddo Moed told The Canadian Press in an interview he felt the formal process was unnecessary.
“Well, (Israel) just made public exactly what we’ve done. We continue to publish information about the inquiry as it progresses, and so in my perspective there is no need for this formal act but that’s the choice of the Canadian government,” Moed said.
Anand issued the summons Wednesday afternoon, hours after the incident took place, impacting a tour of the Jenin refugee camp by the Canadians and diplomats from more than a dozen other countries, including Italy, France and the United Kingdom.
Anand said Canada was demanding a full investigation and ‘accountability” from Israel.
Moed said he has open lines of communication with the Canadian government, but he won’t discuss what happened in the closed-door meeting with officials.
A spokesman for Anand’s office said in an email the government has nothing more to add to what the minister posted on social media Wednesday.
The foreign ministers of France and Italy also issued summons to their respective Israeli ambassadors.
A video of the incident circulating online shows members of the tour group speaking to cameras near a large yellow gate. Gunshots can be heard as the group hurries away from the gate and goes around a street corner. In one video, two soldiers can be seen pointing guns in the direction of the group.
In its Wednesday statement, the Israeli military said the tour group “deviated” from its approved route and soldiers fired warning shots to get the group to move away from an area it was not permitted to visit. The Israeli Defense Forces says no one was injured in the incident.

Perhaps the Liberal government should be investigated into how embedded it has become with radical Muslims since it continually supports Hamas and Hezbollah by their condemnation and actions!
Perhaps the relationship with Aga Khan should be further investigated. Pro-Palestinian groups funded by Hamas, Iran and Qatar are allowed to burn our flag, call fof genocide and death the Canada on our streets and campuses and the federal government does nothing! Jewish Mosques are shot at more than once and Jews are beaten on our streets and little is done. Hamas is a fascist group, proven by the prevalence of books found with them of Hitlers manifesto: Mein Kampf!
Canada, England and France appear to support fascism and we know England and France has already been compromised by radical Muslims! Those radical Muslims threaten the peaceful enjoyment of our country by the peaceful Muslims who live hear!
The Canadian diplomats deviated from their designated route . . . in an active zone of military action . . . it is not the IDF but the Canadians who are at fault! As our troops learned in Afghanistan, threats come from women, children and others posing as people they are not, with explosive devices or hidden weapons, and you are a threat until proven otherwise. There was no need for the delegation to be there in and active area of military actions, but more importantly, if any of you have been in warzones, you remain on your designated route or face threats.
I find this government’s continuing support for these terrorists appalling, while they condemn the only democratic society in the region on a regular bases, as they fight for their very survival from threats coming from all sides! This war would have ended a within a year and a half if the Biden administration, France, Canada and England didn’t handcuff them with the threats and condemnation and they would have come down on Hamas with exceedingly greater force than Israel if it were the US or France or England attacked in such a manner! Canada wouldn’t know what to do, because our leadership is more for getting everyone high on drugs, disarming law abiding gun owners and giving up our country to the world with their globalists aspirations!
It is shameful and this government should be called into the penalty box and investigated for its support of fascism!
