Rabbi killed in Australia Hanukkah attack was ‘very special,’ Toronto relative says

TORONTO — A rabbi killed in the mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration in Australia is being remembered by family members in Toronto for his positivity and commitment to bringing Judaism to others.
Rabbi Eli Schlanger was one of at least 15 people killed at the event on Bondi Beach on Sunday after two gunmen opened fire on the crowd.
Estee Schlanger of Toronto, who is married to the rabbi’s older brother, remembers him as a “very positive and happy person” who was always encouraging others to do good deeds.
She says Schlanger, who grew up in the United Kingdom and settled in Australia, leaves behind his wife and five children, including a newborn.
She says he was a wonderful father and husband, and those who worked with him in Sydney called him a “very special person.”
Estee says the rabbi, who was the second youngest of 10 children, had three siblings living in Australia who are traumatized by the loss and the shooting.

Very, very sad so see innocent, unarmed civilians, citizens celebrating their rights to freely celebrate be gunned down by one of the many groups the world has allowed to commit acts of genocide freely against the Jewish people . . . true acts of genocide that are unjustifiable! Will the world ever wake up or would they prefer having terrorists rule them?
Australia had two Palestinians working in a hospital in who made worldwide infamy on social media by stating they would not treat Jews and may even ‘assist’ their death, over a year ago!
Canada has allowed the Pro-Palestinian groups connected directly to Iran and Hamas to freely broadcast Death the Israel, Death to all Jews, Death to Canada and burn our Canadian flag without even a slap on the wrist, emboldening them to grow. What I can’t figure out is how the LGTBQ+ can support them . . . the LGTBQ+ held a Pride Parade in Gaza, they would be tortured and killed. How can they support a group that is against gay lifestyles?
It is only a matter of time before Canada sees a successful terrorist attack on are soil, not against Jews but unsuspecting, soft target citizens!
The US just foiled an attack that was planned for New Years Eve in California by a Pro-Palestinian group!
Yet our Liberal government supports them and condemns Israel!
If you want to come to Canada, live peacefully and leave your wars, conflicts and radical ideas behind . . . welcome . . . but don’t come here and bring your wars to our streets, killing innocent, non-combatants. Our federal government has precipitated the ideal situation for these terrorists to deploy here and act!
Even though are intelligence services and police services work hard to prevent terrorist attacks, history has proven some of the worst attacks manifested, due to mistakes made! We have already heard of thwarted attacks in Canada, but I would suspect, some were never released to media.
We really need to be vigilant in Canada! We face several nations trying to influence or harm our nation in these dark times and we must not sweep it under the table!
