Canada, other countries call on Israel to ensure aid groups can work in Gaza

By Canadian Press on December 30, 2025.

OTTAWA — Canada and other countries are calling on Israel to boost the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza as the country reportedly moves to suspend more than two dozen humanitarian organizations.

The Associated Press reports a Canadian non-profit, Oxfam Quebec, is on a list of 37 organizations set to be barred from Gaza by Israel as of Jan. 1 for failing to comply with new vetting rules for international organizations working in the enclave.

The Associated Press reports that other organizations on the list include Doctors Without Borders, Action Against Hunger and Oxfam Novib.

COGAT, the Israeli defence ministry unit that oversees humanitarian aid in Gaza, says the organizations on the list account for less than one per cent of the total aid going into the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom call on Israel to ensure that international NGOs are able to operate in Gaza in a “sustained and predictable way.”

The ministers say deregistration of international non-governmental organizations, or INGOs, could force the closure of aid operations in Gaza and the West Bank within 60 days, causing a “severe” impact on access to essential services, including health care.

“One in three health care facilities in Gaza will close if INGO operations are stopped. INGOs are integral to the humanitarian response and, working with the UN and Palestinian organizations, collectively deliver approximately $1 billion in aid across Palestine each year,” says the statement released Tuesday.

“Any attempt to stem their ability to operate is unacceptable. Without them, it will be impossible to meet all urgent needs at the scale required.”

In their statement, the ministers also call on Israel to ensure the United Nations and its partners can continue their vital work, to lift unreasonable restrictions on imports and to open crossings and boost the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

“While the amount of aid going into Gaza has increased since the ceasefire, the response remains severely constrained by persistent impediments on humanitarian access,” the statement says.

Ahmed Ramadan, government relations officer at Justice for All Canada, says Israel’s new rules “violate humanitarian principles of neutrality and independence.”

Justice for All Canada was part of a Canadian delegation that was denied entry to the West Bank earlier this month. It is calling on Ottawa to tighten sanctions targeting new Israeli settlements in occupied territory.

The Canadian Press reached out to the Israeli embassy in Canada for a statement Tuesday but has yet to receive a response.

First . . . the Associated Press (AP) in Gaza is compromised and in several instances Hamas leadership and other Hamas members have been proven to be AP reporters . . . the other point- AP is only allowed into Gaza by Hamas if they only report what Hamas tells them to report, which is mostly disinformation to sway international viewers to side with Hamas and make Israel out to the evil one! Time and time again this has been reported, so I take what AP reporters with a grain of sand.
Then . . . it also has been proven that Hamas has been commandeering up to 85% of aid going into Gaza, with some sold to support Hamas while the remainder is piled up to rot, so the world see famine in Gaza and blames Israel . . . reports support this and even the UN has admitted this!
” . . .Most damningly, according to the UN’s own numbers, a staggering 85% of the aid entering the Gaza Strip by truck since May 19 has been stolen. . .”
https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-862878
Last year, after constant accusations Israel was causing the famine in Gaza this study countered that false accusation:
” . . .A June study by academics at Columbia University found “sufficient amounts of food are being supplied into Gaza” and dismissed accusations of Israel depriving Palestinians of food as “a myth.” . . . “
https://www.jpost.com/israel-hamas-war/article-806739
” . . .They note that it is “a myth that Israel is responsible for famine in Gaza.” They argue that the International Criminal Court and UN have joined Hamas in blaming Israel for a “famine that never was, hoping to stop the war [in Gaza].” . . . “
UNRWA is and has always been compromised by Hamas as has other UN organizations in the region and in many cases the hospitals. Hamas had major infrastructure underneath the hospitals and tunnels came up into those facilities which often saw the terrorists coming and going, even using ambulances and UN vehicles to transport the terrorists!
All breaches of international law!
Hamas must be disarmed before you can set up any INGO services to be effective. Hamas controls any INGO that enters, unless those INGO’s are armed and set up proper distribution areas that are secure!
Hamas is still commandeering large almounts of supplies entering Gaza so they control the Gazan people as well, and so the world blames Israel.
Lastly . . . Canada has blown tens of millions of Canadian taxpayer dollars in Gaza that helped pay for the 0ver 500 miles of tunnels and subterranean infrastructure that the people of Gaza are not allowed to enter to protect themselves, but only the terrorists.
Canada has time and time again supported the terrorist side and condemned Israel, so their trip to Israel into the Palestinian areas would not have been objective, but as has been proven time and time again, subjective, blaming Israel.
The West bank has been a hotbed for terrorists and how can a true perspective be observed in such an area!
I want to note the Israel is the only true democratic state in Middle East and it’s parliament reflects it. Hamas is a terrorist organization that is funded by Qatar, Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood . . . the primary reason they exist is to annihilate every Jew and take the land of Israel, and a land that the Jews are Indigenous to and have always maintained a presence in for thousands fo years, even when displaced by wars!
The Israeli Knesset (parliament) includes representatives from various backgrounds, featuring Jewish members from different streams (secular, traditional, religious) and Arab members who are predominantly Muslim but also Christian, alongside Druze legislators, reflecting Israel’s diverse population of Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze citizens.
