Carney’s shift on Iran might not stop pressure for Canadian entanglement

OTTAWA — As Prime Minister Mark Carney shifts away from unequivocal support for American airstrikes on Iran, one expert says Canada could still be drawn into the conflict.
Carney on Tuesday expressed “regret” over the state of the global order and said he would have preferred to see the U.S. seek debate at the United Nations and consult with allies before launching strikes on Iran.
Carleton University international affairs professor Fen Osler Hampson says it’s likely the U.S. will turn to Canada for naval support in the Persian Gulf if the war continues for weeks.
He notes the U.S. already has pressured the U.K. to allow it to use British bases for its bombing campaign, while U.S. President Donald Trump has been quick to threaten crushing tariffs on countries that don’t bend to his will.
Hampson says the Gulf countries Carney has turned to for investment also might demand Canadian naval support to protect oil shipments.
Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says Canada is trying to broker diplomacy between countries in the region, but Hampson says there is no evidence Ottawa is effective in that role.

Unbelievable that we have a Prime Minister who fails to understand how useless and ineffective the UN has been for the last few decades: Rawanda, Somalia, Congo, the former Yugoslavia, Haiti ( aid/housing after the earthquakes failed ), Syria, Sudan, Gaza . . . all failures with many more on the list! It has become an anti-semitic, anti-West organization with one agenda and that is to push for a new world order with China, Russia and the Arab League in control . . . who are already dominating the UN!
By aligning with Qatar, Lebanon, and other radical Muslim countries who are the biggest funder and incubators of terrorism, your true colours are showing . . . not to mention China . . . a country that wants to take over Canada and is a much bigger threat than the US to our sovereignty!
For such a smart business person, you are so ill informed with the global security issues . . . but that part of you and your WEF globalist buddies who want to turn the world into a one world government, with no borders to countries, no one owning property . . . one big socialist planet!
I wonder if the Indigenous really know or understand that when this is put in place, they will not be distinct, will not own their reserves, will not get their treaty money, and will be just like every other person, who will not own their land or homes!
I have never seen such large numbers of the population in this country . . .most in fact . . . . who just do not see what is coming!
It is already almost too late to wake them up! The machine is in motion and the rate to push this has escalated to bring it into fruition with the UN 2030 Agenda.
