It is with full hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, sister, nana, and great-nana Vera Rhoda Althen (nee Robinson) at the age of 99 years. She passed away peacefully on June 24th with her adoring family by her side. Nana was born on December 21, 1913, fourth oldest girl in a family of 9 children.
Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects from 12:00 pm to 12:30pm on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Reverend Bob Wallace, officiating. Interment will follow in the Milk River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association, RR8-24-6, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4P4.

MRS. CANDACE ATKINSON, beloved wife of Mr. Keith Atkinson, passed away at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the age of 64 years.
Candace is survived by her husband Keith Atkinson, sisters Charlene Purdon and Colete (Neil) Petzold as well as long time companion/sister Colleen (Keith) Adams, son Darryl Wade, daughter Dustilee Wade, and son Devon (Catharine) Atwood, one nephew, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many cousins, two aunts, one uncle, also three step children Marty (Nancy) Atkinson, Bruce (Lori) Atkinson, Cheryl (Randy) Plomp, eight step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Candace was predeceased by her parents Garfield & Cecil Purdon, twin brothers Rocky & Randy, sister Mary-Colleen, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

BLACK RABBIT

Sadly and sorrowfully we the family of Jamie announce the sudden passing of our dear, loving father, son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend on June 14, 2013 in Standoff, AB at the young age of 25 years. We will miss his easy smile.
Jamie was born on November 25, 1987 in Cardston, AB to Wilomena Many Bears and Franklin Black Rabbit.
Left to mourn his passing are his precious daughters whom were his pride and joy: Tianna, Brianna, Arianna and Alianna. Jamie loved his daughters more than life itself. Jamie is also survived by Tyrell Plume, his friend and mother of his children.
Jamie leaves to mourn his loving parents Wilomena and Delroy Oka; and Franklin Black Rabbit; baby brother Charlton (Sharon) Oka; grandmother Fanny White Feathers; grandfather William Many Bears Sr. whom he had a special bond with; his special big brother Lyndon Many Bears, whom would always look out for him; other special brothers include Quincy Twigg, Justin Eagle Child, Reg Black Rabbit; Brother: Aaron Eagle Child; special sisters: Jennifer and Brooke (Harry) Many Bears; Step siblings: Monica Black Water, Crystal and Jackie Oka and D.J. Oka. Uncles: William (Frances) Many Bears Jr., Joe Many Bears, Mike Many Grey Horses, Rex Many Grey Horses; Wes, Curtis, Cody and Clement Black Rabbit; Aunts: Irene Many Bears, Lucille, Winnifred, Shannon and Crystal Black Rabbit; Debbie Weasel Fatt, Mae Rose Weasel Head and Carrie Devine. Special Aunt: Delia (Pat) Twigg; Great Aunts: Shirley Starlight, Josephine Black Rabbit, Elizabeth Red Crow. Great, great aunties, Jamie is also survived by his godmother Patricia Many Fingers; his Godson Kayden Many Bears.
A Family Service will be held at 5:00 P.M., on Thursday June 27, 2013 at EDEN’S FUNERAL HOME, 2424 5th Ave Fort Macleod, AB, followed by a wake service at 7:00 P.M. at the OLD SAIPOYI GYM.

JACOBS

MARY FANNIE PETERSON JACOBS passed away peacefully at the Cardston Hospital on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the age of 95 years, surrounded by her family. Mary was born February 5, 1918 in Cardston, Alberta to George Enoch and Fannie Louise Golden Peterson.
She is survived by her children Broyce (Linda), Loma Leishman(Calvin), Dennis (Diana) and Ronald (Diana), 24 grandchildren and 79 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, eight siblings and two great grandchildren Tanner and Sophie Jacobs.
Mary was raised near Beazer, Alberta and she and Guy lived in Caldwell, Alberta near Mountain View where they operated a cattle ranch. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in all organizations. She was involved with the French Extraction program for many years and was a Temple ordinance worker for 24 years.
She will be fondly remembered by her family, especially her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, as she was very much a part of their lives.
Our family is deeply grateful for the outpouring love and support in many thoughtful and kind expressions of love to her the past few years. We thank her friends and neighbors and extended family for their interest, compassion and support. She leaves a legacy of love, service and fond memories to all who knew her.
We also thank Dr. Brian Low and her caregivers at Lee Crest and the Cardston hospital for their compassion and care.
Friends may meet the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mountain View, AB on Friday, June 28th, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. OR at the Church from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the Service. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mountain View on Saturday, June 29th at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Dennis Baker Officiating. KALEY ELIZABETH SENIEC – NGUYEN 1982 ~ 2013

Kaley Elizabeth Seniec – Nguyen of Lethbridge, beloved daughter of Wasyl Seniec and Sherry Craig, passed away on June 19, 2013 at the age of 30 years.
Kaley was a very loving and caring daughter, sister and mother. Kaley gave birth to five beautiful children. She will be very sadly missed, and always loved. Kaley was very artistic and talented.
Besides her loving parents Sherry and Wasyl. Kaley is survived by her 1 Daughter Annabelle (2 years old); 4 Sons Kaneda (13 years old), Ethan (12 years old), George (6 years old), Jeffrey (3 1/2 years old); and 1 Brother Jeffrey Seniec (26 years old).
Kaley was predeceased by her Step-father Donovan Funk and Grandparents Albertina Seniec and George Craig.

OLSEN

VERLIN REED OLSEN passed away suddenly at the Raymond Hospital the morning of June 25th, 2013 at the age of 86. He is survived by Gwen, his wife of 61 years.
Vern was a loving generous father, grandfather and great grandfather who gave everything for his family. A Master Chef, Master Baker, and Journeyman Butcher, his passion for life did not just include the culinary arts but also his “green thumb” kept his gardens full and everyone fed. He also enjoyed being a rancher prior to and after his retirement from the Lethbridge Community College as the Director of Food Services. He was cherished by all who knew him.
Vern was predeceased by an infant son Mark, his parents Reed and Nora Olsen, and an infant great grandson Wyatt Walburger. He leaves to cherish his memory: April (Fred) Uwazny, Wes (Dian) Olsen, Bruce (Anne Marie) Olsen, Deb (Brent) Robertson, James Olsen; 22 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Also mourning his loss are brothers and sisters Loye (Anna Louise) Olsen; Ben (Geo) Olsen; Nedra (Morgan) Beazer; Dee (Diane) Olsen; and Pat (Ken) Vadnais; also in-laws Clayton Hunter and Isabel Trew.
Friends may meet the family on Friday, June 28 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 St. N, Lethbridge, and prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.

Pelech

Donna Pelech of Fort Macleod, AB passed away peacefully on June 25, 2013 at the age of 95 years.
Donna is survived by her niece Vera (Bert) Schwartzkopf, her children Laurie (Brant) Baker, Karen (Bernie) Genswein and Brian (Crystal) Schwartzkopf. Donna was predeceased by her parents and her siblings.
Donna came to Canada in 1949 with her sister Pauline and family. She lived in Coalhurst for a short time and then moved to Fort Macleod in 1951 and got a job at the old hospital. She work at the hospital until her retirement at the age of 68 years.
Donna was an accomplished seamstress and sewed many clothes for her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening reading and spending time with her family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her many friends.
