HIRSCHE
RONALD ARTHUR HIRSCHE of Wrentham, Alberta passed away suddenly on the farm August 1, 2013 at the age of 82 years. He was preceeded in death by his beloved sweetheart, Sylvia, who passed away on November 27th 2008, just prior to their 55th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his 7 children, Dana (Laura), Grant (Annette), Glen (Terry), Holly (Walter) Tews, Kevin (Marianne), Clark (Julie), Heidi (Dale) Nickel, 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He leaves 2 sisters, Rachel Moore and Joyce Hirsche, 2 sister-in-laws, Jean Hirsche and Josie Burrows, numerous nieces, nephews,
other relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Edna Myers, Victoria Zaugg, 2 brothers, Roy and Elden, grandson Craig Hirsche, several sister and brothers-in-law and others dear to him.
Dad was born Oct.10, 1930 in Lethbridge, Alberta, the son of John Albert Hirsche and Anna Schuler Hirsche. He was the youngest of 7 children all raised on the homestead at Wrentham. Dad received his schooling in the Wrentham area, but his love of farming became his lifetime pursuit. He married his sweetheart, Sylvia Louise Burrows, on December 10th, 1953 and they made their life together on the farm. His love of the land far exceeded its monetary value. He lived a quiet simple life. He had impeccable honesty, taught by example and was a man of his word. He was a hardworking man and was dedicated to his work, right to the end of his life. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Dad established Twin Hills Angus and was a member of the Canadian Angus Association. He was looking forward to receiving his 50 year pin in the spring of 2014. Although farming and his herd of Angus cattle were his pride and joy, his “pearl of great price” as he referred to them was his family.
Friends may meet the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stirling, AB on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. OR at the Church from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the Service.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stirling at 317-2nd St. on Wednesday, August 7th at 2:00 p.m., with Bishop Kent Evanson officiating. Interment in the Stirling Cemetery.
