FLORÉ SINCENNES
1923 ~ 2013
Mrs. Floré Sincennes of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Joseph Sincennes, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12th, 2013 at the age of 90 years.
She was born June 29th, 1923 in Ponteix, Saskatchewan to Adélard and Aurore Perrault. She was married to Joseph Sincennes on April 19, 1954 at Notre Dame d’ Auvergne Parish in Ponteix, Saskatchewan, they lived together in Southern Alberta for 39 years until Joe’s passing.
Mom loved to cook and garden and used those two passions to serve her family and friends. She loved quilting and playing cards with her friends in Grassy Lake. Family was really important to her and she thoroughly enjoyed visits from her brothers and sisters in Saskatchewan and was thrilled when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren came to visit. She had a gift; she always made everyone feel welcome.
Floré is survived by five children: Jo-Anne (Mike) Elliott of Pincher Creek, AB; Rick (Lori) Sincennes of Picture Butte, AB; Paul (Debbie) Sincennes of Lethbridge, AB; Larry (Gerry) Sincennes of Lethbridge, AB; and Susan Sincennes of Lethbridge, AB. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the fifth child in a family of ten children and she was predeceased by her parents and her five brothers and four sisters.

FREDERICK
MICHAEL GEORGE FREDERICK passed away unexpectedly at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge on Thursday, August 8th, 2013 at age 59.
He is predeceased by his mother, Margaret Hagan Frederick and his father Michael Frederick. Sadly missed by his sister, Susan Prest (Terry) in Ontario and by his brother Kenneth Frederick (Barbara) in British Columbia.
A private family service will be held at a later date in Montreal.

GOTTLIEB “GUS” ZIEGLER

Mr. Gottlieb “Gus” Ziegler of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Felicia “Phyllis” Ziegler, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the age of 84 years.
Gottlieb was born March 2, 1929 in Kohler, Russia.
Mr. Ziegler is survived by three sons Peter (Barbara) Ziegler of Lethbridge, David Ziegler of Calgary, and Richard Ziegler of Lethbridge; two granddaughters Kimberly Ann and Stephanie Marie Ziegler. He is survived by one sister Rose (Rudy) Tajcnar of Taber.
Besides his loving wife Phyllis, Gottlieb was predeceased by his beloved daughter Monica, his father George Ziegler and his mother Anna (Macht) Ziegler; also by his sisters and 4 brothers.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604- 13th Street North, Lethbridge, with Father Nathan Siray, celebrant. Interment to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery.

KAPALKA
MARIANNA HELENA KAPALKA, (nee Krysa) beloved wife of the late John Kapalka, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, August 12th, 2013 at the age of 61 years.
She is survived by her 3 brothers and 1 sister – brother, Alex (Eva) Krysa – children Slawek Krysa (Darnell), Andre & Edyta Fraczek (Christopher & Sebastian); sister, Stania (Jerry) Slomkowski – children Beata (Travis) North (Kasha & Michael); Derek (Tara) Slomkowski (Jordan & Jillian); brother, Charlie (Rosemarie) Krysa – children Laura (Junior) Olivier (Wyatt & Tianna) and Cheryl Krysa (Josh Boyer); brother Mike (Maria) Krysa – children Helena (Jason) Eremenko (Adriana & Cain) and Adam (Megan) Krysa (Ben & Zander).
She is also survived by her cousins in Canada, Mirek Bialowas, Teresa Kerner and Steve Brezina and their families; numerous relatives in Poland and Sweden and many of her late husband’s family.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Kapalka, and her parents, Ben and Genowefa Krysa, for whom she especially loved and cared.
Marianna was born in Poland on September 12, 1951 and came to Canada in December, 1969 with her parents and 2 younger brothers. She met the love of her life, John Kapalka, and was married in 1972.
They resided in the Crowsnest Pass where they enjoyed camping, curling and entertaining their many friends and family. Marianna spent much time volunteering at the hospital and playing bridge with her friends. They moved to Lethbridge in 2000. Following John’s passing Marianna worked at Zellers and her family continued to be the center of her life.
Her many nieces and nephews and their children she considered as her own children and grandchildren and loved providing them with the many wares from her kitchen. Her cabbage rolls were infamous and her baking was to die for. She will be remembered for her caring and gentle nature, her constant laughter, and her ability to make friends easily and converse with anyone. Her time outside of work was spent doing her favorite things, cooking, gardening and reading. We will all especially miss her cooking. She always put others ahead of herself.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB. on Thursday, August 15th, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. with Maureen Condon-Horon Officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13th Street North, Lethbridge, AB. on Friday, August 16th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Nathan Siray, Celebrant.

LUSCHER
WALTER LUSCHER passed away at Creston Valley Hospital on August 9, 2013 and was reunited with his sweetheart, Mae. Walter was born June 21, 1928 in Muhen, Aargau, Switzerland to Adolf Luscher and Freida Bertha Baumann. Following his immigration to Canada in 1948, Walter joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission to Germany. While on his mission, he met the love of his life, Mae Lucille Bressler. Walter and Mae married in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple and settled in Cardston, Alberta. Over the course of his life, Walter engaged in many ventures including: farm hand, lumberjack, truck driver, store owner, orchard manager and his greatest passion, his farm. He has always been involved in church and community with a special love for Boy Scouts. The way he lived his life exemplified his faithfulness and devotion to the Lord which inspired many.
Walter is survived by his son Tim (Janell) of South Jordan, Utah; grandchildren Ashley, Whitney, Heidi; daughter-in-law Casey Luscher (partner Tim Einboden); grandchildren Joshua, Cheyenne, Brody and Bram; and sister Trudi (Luscher) Mathys of Switzerland.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mae and son John.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday August 24th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1010 36 Avenue North, Creston, B.C. At 10 AM a viewing will be held at the same location. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, B.C. The family extends their appreciation to all who have helped Walter over the years with farm projects and health concerns. Instead of sending flowers, please use your time and money to serve a family member, friend or neighbor in honor of Walter’s memory.

RONALD HULIT
1929 ~ 2013
Ronald Roscoe Hulit of Milk River passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Hulit, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Joan (Bruce) Digney and his grandchildren Evan and Morgan, his daughter Sheila Hempel, his son Thomas Hulit and his foster son Neil (Omnia) Anderson and their children Alexander, Lauren and James. He is survived by his brother Bob (Emma) Hulit, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Deanna Plontke, his brother Jack Hill, and by his parents Roscoe and Mary Hulit.
Ron was born in Warner, and grew up on the family farm in Milk River, Alberta. He went to school in Warner and Milk River and attended college in Calgary. Ron married Mary in 1961 and farmed in Milk River until 2008. After retiring, he remained active and living on the farm until recently. Ron loved antique cars and spent many hours restoring his finds to their former glory. He then enjoyed touring in them, with friends from the Southern Alberta Antique & Classic Auto Club, to events around the area. He also found much pleasure in golfing and playing crib with his friends. He was a wonderful host and loved to welcome friends for a coffee or drink and a visit at any time.
A Visitation will be held between 7:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, Lethbridge.
A Celebration of Ron’s life will be at 2:00pm on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street North, Milk River, Alberta. Interment will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Chinook Cemetery in Chinook, Alberta.

Gwenllian Sarah Wilk, beloved wife, wonderful mother, caring grandmother and great grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the age of 78 years.

Gwen was born in Taber on August 22, 1934, the second eldest of six children. She married Frank Wilk on August 19, 1957. Frank and Gwen had four sons, Ron, Rick, Roger and Reg whom they spent numerous hours with camping, fishing, and watching baseball, hockey and soccer. Gwen spent her working years as a retail clerk, at both Pat¹s Groceteria and Quill¹s Stationers. She also kept the books for Frank¹s trucking and tire businesses. Gwen loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren who have fond memories of times with Grandma. Gwen had a passion for hockey and was a fanatical fan of the Calgary Flames.
Gwen will be lovingly remembered by her sons Ronald (Beverly) Wilk of Taber, Richard Wilk of Taber, Roger (Julie) Wilk of Calgary and Reginald Wilk (Tracey Jones) of Taber; grandchildren Sarah (Cody) Fletcher, Krystle Wilk, Catherine (Tyler) Turcato, Amanda Wilk and Taylor Wilk and great grandchildren Gracelynn and Piper Fletcher. She is also survived by her sisters Phyllis (Henry) Lewicki and Jane (Eric) Oxley; brothers Bill (Bev) Firth, Gary (Diane) Firth and sister-in-law Hugette Firth. She is also survived by Frank¹s brothers and sisters, Andrew Wilk, Jean (Dale) Merriman, Bill (Carol) Wilk, Ken (Siné) Wilk and Ella Wilk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband Frank Wilk, her parents Christopher and Catherine Firth; in-laws Peter and Mary Wilk; her brother Edward Firth; brother-in-law John Wilk and sister-in-law Rosemary Klemen.
