KAPALKA
MARIANNA HELENA KAPALKA, (nee Krysa) beloved wife of the late John Kapalka, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, August 12th, 2013 at the age of 61 years.
She is survived by her 3 brothers and 1 sister – brother, Alex (Eva) Krysa – children Slawek Krysa (Darnell), Andre & Edyta Fraczek (Christopher & Sebastian); sister, Stania (Jerry) Slomkowski – children Beata (Travis) North (Kasha & Michael); Derek (Tara) Slomkowski (Jordan & Jillian); brother, Charlie (Rosemarie) Krysa – children Laura (Junior) Olivier (Wyatt & Tianna) and Cheryl Krysa (Josh Boyer); brother Mike (Maria) Krysa – children Helena (Jason) Eremenko (Adriana & Cain) and Adam (Megan) Krysa (Ben & Zander).
She is also survived by her cousins in Canada, Mirek Bialowas, Teresa Kerner and Steve Brezina and their families; numerous relatives in Poland and Sweden and many of her late husband’s family.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Kapalka, and her parents, Ben and Genowefa Krysa, for whom she especially loved and cared.
Marianna was born in Poland on September 12, 1951 and came to Canada in December, 1969 with her parents and 2 younger brothers. She met the love of her life, John Kapalka, and was married in 1972.
They resided in the Crowsnest Pass where they enjoyed camping, curling and entertaining their many friends and family. Marianna spent much time volunteering at the hospital and playing bridge with her friends. They moved to Lethbridge in 2000. Following John’s passing Marianna worked at Zellers and her family continued to be the center of her life.
Her many nieces and nephews and their children she considered as her own children and grandchildren and loved providing them with the many wares from her kitchen. Her cabbage rolls were infamous and her baking was to die for. She will be remembered for her caring and gentle nature, her constant laughter, and her ability to make friends easily and converse with anyone. Her time outside of work was spent doing her favorite things, cooking, gardening and reading. We will all especially miss her cooking. She always put others ahead of herself.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB. on Thursday, August 15th, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. with Maureen Condon-Horon Officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13th Street North, Lethbridge, AB. on Friday, August 16th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Nathan Siray, Celebrant.
A Private Family interment will be held at a later date.

TRACY DAWN ORR, born in Milk River September 2, 1975, lost her two year battle with breast cancer Thursday, August 15, 2013 at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge.
She is the cherished daughter of Cheryl (Doug Elliott) of Lethbridge, and Larry Orr (Linda) of Penticton, BC.
Left to mourn her loss are her brother Michael (Rebecca) and their two little girls who were the lights in Tracy’s life – Tatum (5) and Evanny (3). Her best friend in all the world, Ryan Hirsche (Sharon and Myron) all of Lethbridge, was constantly at her side through this journey. She is also survived by her Grandma Loriene Smart in Kimberley, BC and numerous Aunties, Uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her Grandpa Ken Orr, Grandma Marie Orr and Grandpa Gordon Smart.
Tracy received her education in Lethbridge and graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 1993. She was a project accountant in Calgary when illness struck.
We would like to thank the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, the Canadian Cancer Society, Breast Health and the staff at St. Michaels for their compassion and care through this most difficult of times.
There will be a celebration of Tracy’s life on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge.
Cremation will take place prior to the Celebration and her ashes will be placed in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge in a private family gathering at a later date.

ROB JANZEN
1960 ~ 2013
Rob Janzen of Coaldale, dearly loved husband of Janet and Father of Adam and Andrew passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family by his side on Tuesday August 13, 2013 at the age of 53. Rob has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, whom he loved and served.
Rob was born and raised in Coaldale. Rob had a great love for knowledge and after high school left to attend CMBC and the U of M. He married Janet Wiens in 1988 and they moved to Edmonton where Rob continued his studies at the U of A. After graduation he joined the family business. Rob spent many days and years trying to make a career in the hog industry but finally gave up the struggle in 2007. This was a year of change for Rob; he joined ClimateCHECK and began the career he loved.
Faith in God was an integral part of his daily life. Throughout his life he was an active member of the Coaldale Mennonite Church where he sang, preached and lived out his faith with his church family.
Rob was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2012. He accepted this and began walking a path with God in the lead and his family by his side. This journey took him to heaven.
Rob will be sadly missed by his wife Janet and sons Adam (Fiancé Kathleen) and Andrew. Also by his parents Jake and Herta Janzen, siblings: Peter (Maxine)Janzen, Linda (Dean)Wiebe and Tim (Doris)Janzen, and his in-law family, mother: Mary Wiens, siblings: Joan (Doug)Dennis, and Karyn (Reg) Klassen, and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents and by his father-in-law Abram Wiens.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for Rob during his journey with cancer.
An opportunity to meet the family will take place from 6:30 -7:30 pm on Friday, August 16, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610- 4th Street South, Lethbridge. The interment will occur at 11:00 am on Saturday, August17, 2013 at the Coaldale Cemetery. Following the interment, a Celebration of Rob’s Life will be held at 2:00pm at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316- 17th Street, Coaldale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rob’s memory to Library & Learning Commons & Bridge at the Canadian Mennonite University, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd. Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3P 2N2.

RONALD HULIT
1929 ~ 2013
Ronald Roscoe Hulit of Milk River passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Hulit, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Joan (Bruce) Digney and his grandchildren Evan and Morgan, his daughter Sheila Hempel, his son Thomas Hulit and his foster son Neil (Omnia) Anderson and their children Alexander, Lauren and James. He is survived by his brother Bob (Emma) Hulit, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Deanna Plontke, his brother Jack Hill, and by his parents Roscoe and Mary Hulit.
Ron was born in Warner, and grew up on the family farm in Milk River, Alberta. He went to school in Warner and Milk River and attended college in Calgary. Ron married Mary in 1961 and farmed in Milk River until 2008. After retiring, he remained active and living on the farm until recently. Ron loved antique cars and spent many hours restoring his finds to their former glory. He then enjoyed touring in them, with friends from the Southern Alberta Antique & Classic Auto Club, to events around the area. He also found much pleasure in golfing and playing crib with his friends. He was a wonderful host and loved to welcome friends for a coffee or drink and a visit at any time.
A Celebration of Ron’s life will be at 2:00pm on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street North, Milk River, Alberta. Interment will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Chinook Cemetery in Chinook, Alberta.

SHARON ANN HENDRICKSON
1960 ~ 2013
Sharon Ann Hendrickson of Lethbridge, Alberta, on August 13, 2013, at the age of 53, lost her fight with cancer while surrounded by family at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital.
She is predeceased by her parents, Larry and Laura Hendrickson of Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, and her daughter, Laurel Hendrickson of Red Deer, Alberta. Sharon is survived by her children; Karl (Lindsey) Hendrickson, Sherri (Randy) Otis; seven grandchildren; her siblings Brenda (Oriano) Baldrey, Diane Hendrickson, Brian (Val) Hendrickson, Lyle Hendrickson and Gail Hendrickson.
Sharon was born May 4, 1960 in Calgary, Alberta. As she grew up she enjoyed going back to the family homestead in Beechy, Saskatchewan to help her uncle with their dry land farming operation. She always loved to see a good crop and when the opportunity later presented itself she took over the family farming operation from her uncle.
In1989 Sharon decided to pursue a passion of hers and become a teacher. She enrolled in the Medicine Hat community college education program and later transferred to the University of Lethbridge where she completed her Bachelors of Education in 1994. She later took a job with the Lethbridge College helping those who also had a desire to learn.
As a teacher at the Lethbridge College she enjoyed inspiring others to succeed in school and in life. Having had to juggle the responsibilities of being a single mother and student, she had a deep underlying passion for helping people learn. She spent a large portion of her career focusing on helping others upgrade their education and reaching out to those in need.
Sharon had a love for animals, was an avid Gardner and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved reading and learning about new things. Sharon was well known for her positive attitude and always being an uplifting and positive influence in the lives of the people she associated with. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and travel to Koocanusa where she would relax and soak up the sun.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Country Kitchen Catering, 1715 Mayor Magrath Drive, Lethbridge, Alberta with friends and family invited.
