Mrs. Alida “Alice” Little, beloved wife of the late Mr. Ellis Little passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the age of 99 years.
Alice is survived by her son Paul (Sharon) Little and daughter Shelley Little (David Chambers); grandson Trevor Little and granddaughter Becky Little (Chris Gregson). She was predeceased by her parents Rense and Aaltge Nyhoff, her 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

FRASER
MR. ROBERT “BOB” JAMES FRASER, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the age of 68 years.
He is the loving father and grandfather of his 2 children Brenda & Andy Haines (Ashleigh, Rylee, Paige & Jared) of Calgary and Doug & Betty Fraser of Creston, BC. He also leaves behind a brother Ron & Sharon Fraser of Lethbridge, a sister Karen & Wallace Dorchak of Vulcan, numerous neices, nephews and cousins as well as a special friend Jeanette Thomasson of Lethbridge.
He was predeceased by his parents Alec & Jean Fraser, brother and sister-in-law Gord & Sharon Fraser.
Bob was raised in Lomond, AB and was thrilled to have just gone to his 50 year school reunion last month. He drove truck for most of his working life taking his family to BC, Saskatchewan, Pincher Creek and finally to Taber. Bob enjoyed life to the fullest and has overcome many attempts to pull him down. Bob had a severe stroke at 38 years of age, battled cancer at 50 and kept on trucking. Even after he could no longer drive a vehicle he could be found out cruising in his scooter, checking out (supervising) the nearby road construction or running to the store down the road. He enjoyed his time at the Good Samaritan West Highlands facility where he spent his final years.
A Celebration of his life will be held at Knox United Church – 4929 50 Ave, Taber, Alberta, on August 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Jim Lindemann officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Good Samaritan Society – West Highlands Gazebo fund – 2687 Garry Drive West, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 5A3.

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Derrick who passed away peacefully on Friday with his sons and family at his side.
Derrick is survived by his sons Darcy and Shay; grandson Cohen; parents Earl and Edna; siblings: David (Debbie), Darryl (Terri), Brenda and Brian; nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Shaun, Jared, Lindsay, Samantha, Shawn, Brittany, Karli and great-niece Cheyanne.

JANET LIPPA
JUNE 9, 1922 ~ AUGUST 10, 2013
To have known Janet was to have loved her for she had a myriad of wonderful attributes. She was a tireless contributor to her community and to her family. We will all miss her dearly.
Janet June was the 1st girl born to Hazel and Andrew McLachlan at St. Kilda, AB and the 3rd of 10 children. Being the oldest girl, Janet became indispensable in the raising and caring for such a large family and accepted that role lovingly.
After completion of her education in Coutts, AB she enlisted and joined the Canadian Army and left for Manitoba where she met and married her 1st husband with whom she had two children, James and Andrew. She was discharged with a good conduct medal and her service medal. She returned to Coutts, AB in 1950 with her two very young boys and later married Nick Lippa in 1967 and after 35 years of service with Canada Post, retired in 1987. However, Janet did not retire from life. She and Nick raised and rode horses for many years and Janet became a key member in the founding and success of the CouttsGrass Rodeo Association and was also a founding member of the BCC Trail Ride held east of Coutts. All of the many members and participants will remember her and will miss her. Janet also started the Ceramic Club in Coutts and dedicated so much of her time to help those who wanted to learn the craft. In 2012, she was nominated to receive the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for the many contributions to her community and she was very proud to have received such a distinguished recognition for what she loved to do.
Janet was predeceased by her husband Nick Lippa in 2005, her son James Smith in 2008 and four brothers, Archie, Jim, Hugh and Andy McLachlan. She is survived by one son Andrew Smith (Roxie) of Milk River, AB; three grandchildren Heather Ferguson (Brad) of Maidstone, SASK, Devon Smith and Clayton Smith of Lethbridge, AB and two great-grandchildren Cameron and Joelene Ferguson. She is also survived by her four sisters Pat Chartrand, Betty Ostby, Lillian Dangerfield of Coutts, AB and Mavis Botter of Vancouver, BC; one brother Ian McLachlan of Red Deer, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 345 3 Street W, Coutts, AB.

STEELE
MRS. JOAN FLORENCE STEELE, beloved wife of the late Mr. Lance Steele, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the age of 78 years.
She is survived by her son, David Steele of Lethbridge, daughter, Maureen (Bill) Gaehring of Lethbridge, grandsons, Tyson and Jack Gaehring of Lethbridge, brother, Don (Beth) Weiers of Humboldt, Sask., sisters-in-law, Kathy Weiers, Margaret Weiers of Toronto, Ont., and Frieda Weiers of Kelowna, B.C., brother-in-law Bud Mault of Saskatoon, Sask., numerous wonderful nieces, nephews, and special cousin, Marie Cameron.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Lance, infant son Tommy, her parents Gertrude and Fred Weiers, her siblings, Ted Weiers, Len Weiers, Helen Weiers, Harold Weiers, Gene Weiers, Alma Steinke, Bob Weiers and Eileen Mault.
Joan Weiers was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on January 20, 1935. Joan spent many happy years on the family farm until moving to Saskatoon with her parents to complete High School. Joan was employed by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce initially in Saskatoon and then in Calgary where she moved with her best friend Cece to start a new adventure. It was in Calgary where Joan met her “kindred spirit” Lance Steele and started her second career as a homemaker. Joan and Lance moved to Lethbridge in 1967 where they resided happily for many years together.
Upon Lance’s retirement Joan started her third career at H&R Block where she was a valuable member of the H&R team. Joan was a long time member of the Catholic Women’s League where she made many friendships, enjoyed much laughter and served in many different positions. Joan was happiest in her garden where no dandelion was safe, playing golf with Lance at the Slocan Golf Course, chatting with friends over coffee, listening to Ella Fitzgerald, tackling the Saturday crossword and Sudoku puzzle and of course spending time with her grandsons, teaching them chess, playing board games and sharing memories with “Grammy”.
Our Joanie was one of a kind and as the youngest of 10 with glorious red hair she will be remembered for her feisty and fun attitude, warm brown eyes, endless supply of hugs, devotion and care of her “hon” Lance and sage advice and encouragement. The last years of her life were a challenge for Joan as she faced Lance’s declining health and then sadly her own as well. “It’s not if you weather the storm but how well you dance in the rain”.
Joan’s family would like to thank Dr. Forestell and the staff of the Campbell clinic and Skelton’s Pharmacy, Dr. Malpica, Dr. Bennke, Dr. Cameron and the staff of Emergency, ICU, 4B and 4C whose care, concern and professionalism were greatly appreciated.
A Funeral Mass will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge on Saturday, August 24th, 2013 at 10:00 A.M., with Father Kevin Tumback, Celebrant.
Cremation to follow with a private interment to be held at a later date.
