FUNK
It is with sadness we announce the passing of MRS. INGRID FUNK, at the
Chinook Regional Hospital, on September 1, 2013 at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her sister Helene, her children Kathryn, Harvey (Connie), Pat, Debby (Paul), Marilyn (Joe), and Doug (Suzanne) and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Her grandchildren Alex, Jack, Jessie, Sam, Nicole, Johanna, Leanna, and Jillian brought her great joy and laughter. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, brothers and sisters Ollie, Margaret, Knud, Andrew, Eric, Tommy, Marie, and Esther. Her story began on December 25, 1920, in Wayne, Alberta. She grew up during the Œdirty thirties¹ in the Drumheller area, and joined the army when the war started. She proudly served with the Canadian Women¹s Army Corps during the war as a Sergeant in
Alberta, with her term ending at Suffield. She met Henry (Hank) in
Lethbridge after the war, and spent the next 24 years in postings across
Canada with the RCAF. As a widow, she settled in Lethbridge and worked as a Receptionist at the Lethbridge Auxiliary Hospital until her retirement. She cared for the residents and they in turn loved her. Ingrid greatly enjoyed the outdoors, reading, crosswords, debating politics, and playing cards and visiting casinos with her sisters. Family was very important to Ingrid and she had an open heart and would do anything to help others. She had a special place in her heart for animals. Ingrid was well-cared for during her last two years at West Highlands and staff there appreciated, as we all did, her humor, ready wit and quick smile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB (www.cnib.ca).

LARRY MONROE NORRIS
1952 ~ 2013
It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Larry Norris, announce his
unexpected passing on the family farm in Warner, Alberta, Friday, August 30, 2013 at the age of 61. Larry is survived by his two sons Scott (Rhonda) and Ali Norris of Lethbridge and Trevor (Kayla) and Kinley Norris of Chetwynd, British Columbia and his beloved Brenda Fleck of Lethbridge and her family. He will also be greatly missed by his two sisters Judy (Arlo) Neufeld and Gayle (Kim) Prindle of Lethbridge and their families. Larry was predeceased by his Mother, Lillian (Perrement) Norris December 27, 2006 and his father William Norris March 17, 2013 of Warner. Larry was born in Cottage Grove, Oregon February 27, 1952, just two days after his Dad¹s birthday. What a special gift he was to the family. In 1955, the Norris family moved back to the family farm in Warner, where Larry lived his entire life. Larry¹s life in Warner centered on his family, friends and farming. Larry enjoyed farming, but he loved the farm life. He enjoyed working alongside his Dad, Scott and Trevor and his dear neighbours and friends. A community minded individual, Larry involved himself in all aspects of civic life. He was an avid hockey fan and an integral part of Warner Hockey School: traveling with and supporting the girls and coaches. His thoughtful nature, his great sense
of humour and his ability to relate to people of all ages and walks of life
made him an extraordinary friend to all who knew him. Larry had a very
unique ability to stay connected to family and friends even across the
miles. Larry not only acknowledged every special occasion, he created
reasons to remind loved ones how dear they were to  him. Above all, Larry took great pride in being “Pops” to Ali and Kinley. He treasured every moment he spent with his two precious grand-daughters.
