BERNICE BARBRA THOMPSON

Mrs. Bernice Barbra Thompson of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Tillman Thompson, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2013 at the age of 87 years.
Bernice was born at home June 21, 1926 to Leo and Anna Movold and married Tillman Thompson on May 15, 1945 joining the family farm north of Warner.
Her fondest memories were of family and friends. She was always an active member of the community and special occasions. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards and her grandchildren.
She was a dedicated life time member of the OORP (Order of Royal Purple) joining in 1945 (68 years) and held many offices from Historian to Supreme Lodge. She was instrumental in the Warner History Book serving as chairman and enjoyed her part in planning Warners 75th Anniversary.
Bernice moved to Lethbridge in 2004 and resided there until her passing. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two children Lloyd (Carol) Thompson and Glennda (Dennis) Lagler, grandchildren Warren (Gay) Lagler and family Carlee, Haley; Pam (Glen) Valk and family Breanne, Louis, Danielle; Mark (Naomi) Thompson and family Cole, Aurora; Tyrell (Tamara) Thompson and family Kiara, Jocelyne, Kayla, hompsoDatona, and Skylar.
Besides her husband Tillman Thompson, Bernice was predeceased by her parents Leo and Anna Movold and her in-laws Tony and Guri Thompson.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Warner Cemetery, with Pastor Jason Carroll officiating.

FRANCIS “FRANK” ST. AMAND
JUNE 24, 1925 ~ SEPTEMBER 19, 2013
Mr. Francis “Frank” St. Amand of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Alberta St. Amand, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the age of 88 years.
Frank was born on June 24, 1925 at Victoria Harbour, Ontario and at an early age the family moved to Collingwood Ontario.
As a young man, Frank worked in the Shipyards and upon turning 18 enlisted in the naval service. When the war ended, he returned to the shipyards until he found his true passion the grocery business and held various positions until he retired. His favorite hobby was golfing. He found his soul mate Alberta and got her to love golf as much as he did and they spend 39 happy years doing everything together. Family always came first in his life, especially his wife. Through his work, they were able to enjoy many trips to Europe, South America, Cuba, Mexico, Bahamas and various states in the U.S. Upon his retirement, they enjoyed spending time in Palm Springs.
Through the years, Frank belonged to the Kinsmen Club, K40, ACT and the Lethbridge Country Club.
Besides his loving wife, Alberta, Frank is survived by his sister-in-law, Helen St. Amand; brother-in-law George (Adella) Lutterotti; sister-in-law Nevis (douglas) Goruk; mother in law Wanda Lutterotti, and Albertas uncle and aunt Val and Flora Matteotti, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by the parents, Peter and Alice St. Amand, 12 siblings and his father-in-law, Guerrino Lutterotti.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12th Ave South, Lethbridge with Father Kevin Tumback, celebrant.

Kelly Blake Simon of Bow Island passed away suddenly near Bow Island on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the age of 50 years, beloved son of Dorothy and Louis Simon. Kelly was predeceased by his brothers Terry and David Simon, grandparents Julia and Albert Renschler and Emilia and Louis Simon, Aunts Joan Mezei, Joan Renschler and Uncle Doug Renschler. Kelly is survived by three sisters and four brothers, Karen (Martin) LePrieur of Medicine Hat, Curtis Simon of Edmonton, Tamara (Stephen) Lewis of Edmonton, Lori Simon of Edmonton, Lorne “Buddy” Simon of Whitla, Robin (Maggie) Simon of Medicine Hat, Ron (Shanon) Simon of Dunmore; nieces and nephews, Amy Jo Johnson (Kurt), Louis LePrieur, Kelsey, Marissa and Nicholas Lewis and Devin, Jaxson and Kian Simon; his great niece and nephew, Ariyanna and Keatyn Johnson. Kelly was a gentle giant. Farming was his life. From the age of two he was with dad on the tractor, every day, all day. Kelly graduated from Lethbridge Community College with a diploma in Agriculture and then came back to the farm to try to show dad how to farm! Kelly loved teasing his nieces and nephews and was always playing a trick on someone. He loved a good water fight, especially with his mom. Kelly was always ordering the latest “gotta have it item” off the internet and of course would always order an extra one for mom. Kelly loved stopping in to rest, nap or chat with mom and dad aka (the big boss, as referred to by Kelly). Kelly loved “coffee” with his friends. On any given morning you could find him at Bobbys Bar, The Co-op Bulk Fuel Store or Whiskey Creek. He appreciated a good game of poker and played weekly for the past 30 years with the same group of friends. He recently found enthusiasm for bingo and has always had a passion for golf. If you were his friend, or his neighbor or family the Gentle Giant would always be there if you needed him. He would drop anything and make sure he would do whatever he could for you at any time. Please feel free to come to the funeral dressed casual. Kelly would appreciate that. Mrs. Lorraine Theresa Bodnaruk, beloved wife of the late John Bodnaruk, passed away peacefully on Friday September 20th 2013 at the age of 87 years.
Lorraine was born as Lorraine T. Hemsing in Divide Saskatchewan on March 25 1926 and was schooled there till she moved to Rolling Hills Alberta in 1941. Lorraine completed her education at Garbut Business School in Lethbridge immediately after moving to Rolling Hills.
Lorraine “mom” then married John Bodnaruk on July 18th 1945 and became a full time farm wife which she cherished doing. Mom will forever be remembered for her cooking, whether it was a full course spread in the field at harvest or the many parties and celebrations at the home. You never went hungry at John and Lorraines home. If she wasnt cooking she was doing her gardening and ceramics mom loved doing both; however she more loved sharing the fruits of both with her family and friends.
Besides her loving husband, Lorraine is predeceased by her 5 sisters and 3 brothers, and survived by her 3 children, Pat Bodnaruk (Margie) their children Lori (Dave) and Richard (Kristine). Marie Stilgoe (David) their children Debbie (Mike), Robin (Dorne) and Terry (Tania). Mitch Bodnaruk (Diane) their children Ryan, Cole and Kalie. Lorraine will long be remembered and loved by her 14 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Vigil Rites will be held at 7:00pm, on Tuesday, September 24th 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge led by Deacon Michael Pollard.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at ST. MARTHAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia BLVD West, Lethbridge with Father Salvador Ahumada celebrant.

JACK (YOSHIAKI) TANAKA passed away peacefully on September 17, 2013 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Yoshiko (nee Kurio). Yoshiko and Jack spent the majority of their lives in Picture Butte, AB.
Jack worked hard to provide a better life for his six children: Ed (Pam) Tanaka, Sharon (Dick) Johnson, Jane (George) Dixon, Glen (Naomi) Tanaka, Donna (Steve) Sembinelli, and Brian (Karen) Tanaka. They are forever grateful and will lovingly remember him always.
Jack was “Jiichan”, “Pops”, “Grampy” and “Grandpa” to his 13 grandchildren: Heather (Lucas), Shannon (John), Andrea, Stacy, Justin, Kris, Kiel, Brett, Travis, Brennan, Caitlin (Trent), Courtney and Jordan. They will miss him dearly.
Jack was also blessed to have 2 great-grandchildren, Ben and Kiley.
