DAVID COSTLEY DAHL, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and community leader, passed away November 7, 2013 in Cardston, Alberta. David was born in Magrath, Alberta on September 17, 1931 to Arthur Frelen Dahl and Dorothy Leola Costley. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, David served a mission to Eastern Canada from 1951-1953. Finding his eternal companion while at BYU, David married Winifred Olsen in the Manti Temple on May 26, 1955. David is survived by his wife, Winifred; their children, Cynthia Mitchell, Rosemarie Horne (Erik), Patricia Hatch (Doug) and Dan Dahl (Mary); 13 grandchildren and a great grandson; his brother Greg Dahl and sisters Kathy Loewen and Thelma Godfrey, all of whom will greatly miss him.
As a passionate community advocate David served as a councilor for the Town of Cardston, a member of the Calgary Stampede Board, a Rotarian, a Calgary Philharmonic Board member, president of The Ranchmen’s Club from 1983-1984, and as a president of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce in 1986. David was an accountant and self-made man starting his own firm, David Dahl and Partners in 1972. He was also a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Known for his positive demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand, David was well respected by his peers and maintaining friendships was important to him. David also served diligently and faithfully in various church callings both personally and professionally within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. His family wishes to extend their gratitude to those who provided love, comfort and service to David at such a difficult time.
Friends may meet the family at Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston on Friday, November 15th, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the Church from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. prior to the Service.
The Funeral Service will be held in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, Cardston, AB on Saturday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond, AB.

Mr. Donald Percy Denison died in St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge on Tuesday October 29, 2013. Donald was born in Richmond Township, Lennox & Addington County in Ontario.
He is survived by his brother Bob (Eileen) Denison of Calgary; sister Vera (Bill) of St. Catherine’s Ontario as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Kenneth “Ken” Achtemichuk of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Brenda, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2013 at the age of 63 years.
Alongside his loving wife Brenda, Ken is survived by his three sons Greg, Brad (James) and Marc (Elena) all of Calgary, his mother Anne of Calgary, his three sweethearts (grandchildren) Natalie, Lauren and Mason, sister Brenda Bain of Calgary, sister in-law Charlotte (Dave) Beisel of Medicine Hat as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his father John Achtemichuk, sister Debra, and parents in-law Stan and Linda Weinmaster.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, on Friday, November 15, 2013, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South Lethbridge, Alberta. A private family Interment to take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Peter Green of Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 84 years on November 3rd 2013.
Left to mourn are his loving wife, Olive of 59 years; daughter Dianne (Charles) Clark of Edmonton, daughter Sandra Sordi of Calgary, son Andrew (Nina) Green of Delta, B.C.; cherished grandchildren Duane and Jeffrey Clark, Michael and Derek Sordi, Christopher and Rachel Green; sister-in-law Julia Plewes of Niagara, Ontario and niece Suzanne (Earl) Tranmer of Newmarket, Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Florence of Sheffield, England.
Peter was born in Sheffield, England and immigrated to Canada with Olive in 1955. Peter worked for Gilbey’s/ Palliser Distillery for 33 years, first in Toronto and then as Vice President of Production in Lethbridge until his retirement in 1989.
Peter was active with the Rotary Club of Lethbridge for 35 years and was a founding member of Probus. In addition, Peter volunteered on numerous boards of directors serving industry, arts and the community. Peter was an avid photographer and a member of the Royal Photographic Society.
A special thank you to the healthcare teams at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital and St.Michael’s Health Center for Peter’s exceptional care.

1926 ~ 2013
Robert A. Hutton, CD passed away on November 9th, 2013 at the age of 86 years.
Robert was the beloved husband of MaryAnne, married for 66 years; the father of four children Patricia (Ralph) Matteotti of Edmonton, Diane (Deceased) (John) Thompson of Kelowna, Peggy (Lenny) Romansky of Houston Texas, Robert (Karen) Hutton of Calgary; grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. Robert is also survived by his two brothers Paul and Gary and his sister Carol.
Robert worked as a master electrician in the construction trade before spending the last 25 years at the Government Research Station before his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion BR#4 for over sixty years; serving many years on the Executive and six years as President and was awarded the Palm Leaf to his meritorious service medal in 1998. In 1999, he was appointed Honorary President of the branch.
During WWII he was a trooper in the Royal Canadian Armored Corp, upon discharge he joined the 33rd Field SQN RCE (M). He spent 22 years in the Military obtaining the rank of warrant officer. Robert really enjoyed curling and golfing and also RVing to Arizona and local campgrounds.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am, on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BR NO 4, 324 Mayor Magrath Dr S, Lethbridge, Alberta.

HILDA MAE “COOKIE†ROLLAND of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Brian Rolland, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at the age of 70.
Hilda was born in Selkirk, MB where her and her husband raised their 5 children, then in 1970 moved to Thompson, MB. When her husband retired they moved to Lockport, MB in 1991. They left Manitoba in 1998 and came to the Lethbridge area.
She worked as a child care worker for 25 years. She was a wonderful wife and mother. A very caring, gentle and kind lady, she had the patience of a saint.
She is predeceased by her parents (Percy and Alice Cooke), one brother, Percy Cooke, one sister Marie McRae (Glen), and her beloved daughter, Cynthia Mae Budden (Barry). Cookie was also predeceased by her beloved dog, Mackie Noodle.
She is survived by her husband Brian Rolland, children: Jackie Cole (Kevin), Michael Rolland (Sonja), Shelley Rolland (Victor Monan), Brent Rolland (Tracy); grandchildren Julian Budden (Tasha), Darcy Rolland (Lori), Jesse Cole (Danielle), Michelle Rolland-Halvorson (Wade Fredrick), Bryan Rolland-Monan (Paige Krueger), McKenzie, Connor and Paige Rolland; great-grandchildren Willis and Jack Rolland, Aida and Emma Halvorson. Cookie is also survived by her siblings, Beverly Samborski, Maurice Cooke and Phyllis Hacking (Richard); many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 – Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, November 15th, 2013 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Glenda Wert officiating. Cremation, with a private interment to be held at a later date.
